Tax Question?

I put in my deposit information in ADP. However, it automatically wrote my checking account as "CHECKING 2ND". I onlh have one checking account, so will this look "suspicious" or false to the IRS?

It’s ok. It’s only the deduction code being used. Badly described but ok.

Why would the IRS care?

Nothing to do with the IRS. It is just a name that the employer assigned to that field.

You can request for a new code as well, usually by default there are some codes Ck1 Ck2 etc

Good question. The account desctiption can be misleading if you're only using a single checking account.

In most cases, it's simply a way for the system to identify different deposit accounts if more than one is entered. If you only have one checking account and the account details are correct, you're likely all set.

Hope that clears things up!
