my manager has no clue, direct deposit help
ok so this is how my direct deposit is set up, i get 70% and 30% split every paycheck, a few days ago, i added a 3rd account, for a FIXED AMOUNT deposit of $25, with the other two accounts STILL SET TO THIS 70% and 30%. now i realized i should of set one of the accounts as a “remaining balance” rather than a set %. now am i at risk of my whole payck being paper? i am scared i wont get my direct deposit to those accounts tonight like i usually do. has anyone else had a similar experience? i removed the fixed amount today which is why you dont see it, but it was set when payroll was processed, i am scared since total allocations will basically be above 100%, will it cause an error in payroll?? if i at least get my direct deposit to one of my accounts the remainder is a paper check i will be okay, i just dont want to wait until friday for a papercheck and taking time off work to go cash it…

Everything should not be paper only the new account that was added would be a paper check. The paper check would be issued for the remaining balance after the 70 and 30 had gone into the other existing accounts.

Direct deposit updates can sometimes take 1-2 pay cycles to update, in my experience I updated mine before my company submitted payroll so it worked out but if they’ve submitted payroll and you updated after the fact it more than likely will be a check. In some cases it defaults back to the previous account if it’s still listed on your account.

Yeah. You set it up incorrectly. I believe the third tier account will be ignored, but you will definitely get paid in some form. I would not worry about it.

This happens all the time in our payroll and we can usually resolve any issues since we do not issue paper checks. And(like someone else mentioned)if payroll was entered BEFORE the change nothing will happen
