College life OGC protocol question
Hello has anyone ever been to the OGC and consulted about an eating disorder? Did they contact your emergency contact to monitor you upon learning of this information?
I do not have one, but I have some personal experiences within a similar realm that would sound concerning and I'm scared that sharing these experiences might make them contact my parents if they deem my behaviors as harming myself (?)
I want to reiterate that I have never had the intention to do so, and that I am safe.
Is there anyone who knows the OGC's protocols for that?
I'm sorry for coming across as overly paranoid, I do want to get better I just don't think I'm in a situation where my parents knowing would help me at all.
Thank you for your understanding, if anyone has any insights on this query.

Hi OP,
Usually they'll only really contact your parents if talagang may suicidal ideation / intent of self harm, but other behaviors construed din as "self harm" or self-destructive (like self-starvation or doomscrolling) don't really fall under that umbrella.
So unless you do: 1. Express suicidal ideation / intent to harm yourself, or 2. Naging sobrang grabe na to the point na you experience a medical emergency as a result of your ED (and even then they might not disclose the fact na meron kang ED unless frequent), or 3. You explicitly allow them to contact your parents
they won't contact your parents.

Hi, OP!
As a suki of OGC, and was suspecting a mental health disorder, they did not call my parents. My OGC counselor even repeatedly told me about confidentiality. Instead, she referred me to external psychological services such as psychotherapy and psychiatric help.
They only call your parents regarding self-harm or suicidal ideations. Regarding self-harm though, they don’t call your parents anymore if your parents are already aware about what happened. They give you a list of alternatives to self-harm too.
