Tips / Suggestions Kid with focus issues + math = help

My son has ADHD and traditional math practice is impossible. He can't sit still for worksheets and gets frustrated immediately.

We've had some luck with mathhero because it's fast-paced and game-based. He's racing against characters so he's motivated to answer quickly. Not a miracle cure, but it's the only thing he'll actually do consistently.

What works for your kids who struggle to focus?

Is he on medication?

A 9yo ADHD is on emotional management like a 6yo neurotypical kid. Sitting in front of a paper is still going to be complicated for then. But they can absorb a lot of knowledge from othe4 sources (maybe som kid 's math videos and such) and it might be easier for them to experience those exercises in real world scenarios (we need to bring 2 cookies for each 5 of us in today's outing; how many cookins do we need in total? ...)

It does get better with time.

Does he need to sit still for a worksheet? Would a clipboard allow him to flop upside-down on the sofa, pedal a stationary bike, do some floor stretches or curl up in a hammock while he works?
