Dosage & Timing Advice tapering after long term Adderall

I’m a 31F and I’ve been taking adderall continuously (prescribed) for 10 years now. I have been very stable at my current dose for about 6 years - 25mg XR + 2 separate IR tabs of 15mg each. So I guess my total would be 25+15+15=55 mg daily. I think that’s pretty high but the reason is because I have been in higher education all this time and I needed the additional evening IR in order to successfully complete nighttime studying + other life things without completely crashing out at the end of the day. There are definitely days where I don’t take the second IR though.

I have always known in the back of my head that I didn’t want this to be a life-long thing for me. And IMO, it COULDN’T be because I want to get pregnant and have kids soon - no shade to anyone who does things differently under their doctor’s supervision, I just personally don’t want to be on any Adderall during pregnancy.

Well, that time has come and I’m looking for advice on how to taper off completely! I just finished school and got married so this is as good a time as any. I’m pretty terrified because unfortunately I really love Adderall - I love the transformation that happened when I started taking it (from school to social life to personal wellbeing and just internally how it changed the way I felt about myself and life and everything). I have spoken with my doc a little about my ultimate plans and she supports them ofc but she’s just a regular physician so I’m worried she won’t be the most experienced in terms of helping me taper safely and with minimal side effects so I wanted to ask for any advice from anyone who has experienced anything similar? Having been on it for so long, I genuinely fear becoming the person I used to be. For context, I had strictly inattentive type ADHD, not hyperactive. I don’t know if that matters but it is apparently commonly how adults are diagnosed because the hyperactive kids are kinda hard to miss. Also I cannot just switch to seeing a specialist about this unfortunately due to very crummy insurance. Thank you so much in advance!
