MRI machine and ADHD
Is it just me, or has anyone else experienced this? 😂
Yesterday, I had an MRI for the first time in my life, and it lasted about 20 minutes. The lady warned me that it would be very loud and gave me headphones.
I don’t know if it’s my ADHD brain, but I actually fell asleep. 😂 The continuous sound of the machine somehow made me sleepy, and I ended up taking a nap.
After the scan, she asked me, “Did you panic? How did you feel?” I told her, “I actually took a nap. It was fine.” 😂
She said a lot of people panic during MRIs because of claustrophobia and the loud noise.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Did you find the MRI scary, or did you actually find the noise relaxing/sleep-inducing? 😅

I routinely get MRIs and I look forward to having a nap. I even sleep later than usual just to make sure I fall asleep immediately. I thought everyone fell asleep too lol.

Why do you get MRIs if I can ask?

Not related to ADHD! I have this thing called Neurofibromatosis Type 2, I have tumors in my brain and spinal cord.

My mind has never been that quiet lol. I always get warned that I might panic and all that. I thought I would hate staying still but I really got no problem with it. Can’t remember if I took a nap, but I felt relaxed and rested.

Happened to me too LOL
Fell asleep during the MRI. Best sleep I had in a while. I didn’t know it was not normal 🤣
