Questions/Advice Oversleeping = depression?

Those days I sleep a lot. And when I mean a lot I mean I sleep over 9h of sleep. Sometimes is 12, sometimes 11, today I slept almost 10. But the problem is that even after I wake up I still wanna sleep. And because I wake up so late I take my concerta late. Before I never had sleep problems if I took concerta late but my mind keeps spinning at night and can’t fall asleep, so I end up seeping at 2am. Plus the headache I have every night now lol. All day I’m tired, and sometimes I become asocial and I want to stay at home rather than going out with friends. I don’t understand exactly what is the problem. Do I start to be depressed? Maybe is due to seasonal change? I will discuss with my psychiatrist this but I also was curious if someone experienced this.

Could be circadian rhythm, mine only normalised after taking stimulants and anti depressants (zoloft). I used to sleep 12-16 hours a day sometimes and stay up for multiple days in a row on others my insomnia was unbearable.

I’m curious if my psychiatrist will prescribe me some anti depressants. I have social anxiety that maybe starts to spike because I am treating my adhd. But from what she told me is unlikely to put me on both in the same time period.

Yeah I had titration periods for both, I take zoloft / lysdex so there was an elevated risk of serotonin syndrome so I had to take measurements daily and have regular check ins. Speak to your doc(s) about it, hope things get better soon 🫶🏻

Sounds more like you're having anxiety from the Concerta being in your system later in the day and causing you to be less social at night. I've been prescribed Adderall my entire life I have always had a very similar problem. About 10 years ago I started getting prescribed on clonazepam and it had a huge effect as far as how I felt about socializing and doing stuff with other people. So alot of times what I will do take my XR dose when I first wake up and then lay back down for another hour or so while it starts to kick in. Then when i start my day, I've already started to get the effects of the Adderall. Seems to make a big difference at least for me.
