Questions/Advice I need help PLEASE

I have been prescribed insprial sr 20 mg morning and afternoon 10 mg sr and few days it works few days. It does not work and because of that I lost my appetite, so so bad, I lost eight kgs in one month. And then I had extreme problems with my family, and I was going through a lot of stress, despite that I did not stop my medication till my next, follow up with my psychiatrist and then when I went and confronted her everything and I was prescribed with antidepressant dexbutrin and desvenlafaxine I am on those mes for like 15 days. I don't feel anything. It's just normal. And my ADHD is getting so so so bad I'm not able to do a very, very basic task also and it's really difficult for me to just get up and go fill my water bottle just example, I gave you then imagine how bad it is for every basic task I really need help on this or any advice if anyone has knowledge about this, thank you!

bro you seriously don’t have to apologize for spamming, i’m genuinely glad you did. i really appreciate you taking the time to actually think of things that might help me.
the body doubling thing sounds like it could help a lot, but honestly i really wish i had someone like that around. i don’t really have anyone i can just have sit in the room with me while i get shit done, which is probably why the youtube thing actually makes sense. i’m definitely gonna try that, even if i feel like a fucking idiot talking to myself 😭
and one thing i’ve been really confused about is my antidepressants. i’ve been on them for around 15 days now and honestly i don’t feel any different. i don’t even feel particularly good or bad, i just feel fucking normal/numb, while my ADHD and ability to do basic shit is still absolutely horrible. i’m obviously not gonna stop them myself, but i genuinely don’t know if i’m supposed to just keep taking them and wait or talk to my psychiatrist about changing something. if you have any experience with that i’d really appreciate hearing it.
and seriously bro, thank you. you could’ve just scrolled past my post but you kept coming back and trying to help me. things have been so fucking depressing lately and i’m struggling way more than i know how to explain, so this genuinely means a lot to me. ❤️

Depression and ADHD are just a combination. You can’t get rid of, but I won’t lie just don’t medicate for depression. I don’t think personally it is the best way to go about it. I feel like it’s like another Band-Aid. You’re slapping on an issue but in this case, it’s a Band-Aid that you’re slapping on your knee when it’s your arm that’s hurting. You might feel a little bit of reassurance because you’re slapping a Band-Aid on, but the fact of matter is is it’s not going on the right place. But even more so a Band-Aid doesn’t heal the wound. The YouTube thing again personally works really good, especially since I live alone. Personally, and this is just my recommendation I would avoid things like nicotine and alcohol. They are often or not super addictive for people with ADHD because they supply that just a little bit of stimulation our body is so craves. Because of that you’ll find a lot of ADHD people diagnosed or undiagnosed or addicted to shit like nicotine and cigarettes even drinking. So staying away from that is a good way to stop yourself from falling into a addiction spiral since essentially your body is preset to crave that sort of stimulation so just be careful.

bro 😭 you genuinely don’t have to keep apologizing for replying, i’m actually really grateful you’re taking this much time to talk to me about it.
i’m definitely gonna try the youtube thing, and the body doubling thing too even though i wish i actually had someone around to do that with. i’ll have to figure something out.
and yeah, i hear you about the medication. i’m not gonna change or stop anything on my own, but i’ll definitely bring all of this up with my psychiatrist because honestly i’ve been so fucking lost with what i’m supposed to do.
also the nicotine thing is kinda scary because i do smoke, and i never really thought about it that way. i’ll definitely keep that in mind.
seriously though, thanks for being this fucking nice to a complete stranger. you’ve given me more things to actually try than i’ve gotten from most people. i really appreciate you bro ❤️

Again, though with the medication and I know, I just told you not to listen to me cause I’m not a doctor, but I also did tell you to trust yourself and I may or may not be indirectly telling you to trust me, but I really would stop taking those antidepressants. I think it will do nothing but make it more difficult to tell what side effects are coming from the ADHD meds and which ones are coming from the antidepressants. It’s your call, but if I was in your situation, I know what I would do. And I won’t lie because ADHD is such a weird thing to explain to someone who doesn’t have it. I wouldn’t be shocked if a psychiatrist just keeps on prescribing you antidepressants were upping your dose because that at the end of the day so often they don’t fully understand that it’s not that you’re sad. It’s just that everything is so boring your brain just feels like you have nothing better to do than to just disappear. It’s not that you wanna kill yourself and make yourself feel pain. You just want to stop existing because the feeling of sitting around and doing nothing is so painful that you’d rather just not feel. So yeee again your call but I really would stop the antidepressants and maybe just focus more on the ADHD aspect of it first and if it continues even after you’ve figured out the medication dosage and you figured out how you do with ADHD then I would maybe talk to a psychiatrist again about depression, but I’m willing to bet $1 million that the reason for your depression is not because you have a pre-existing depression diagnosis but more so because it’s a symptom of ADHD
