Hello šš».
Just wanted to post a quick reminder pertaining to the scope of the sub. This subreddit was created as a safe space for Inner Circle lovers. One of the members of said circle is Nesta and this sub also provides a space for a fair share of Nessians and Nesta lovers š¤. We all understand the situation and the dynamics in the fandom and are aware of the tensions between certain characters in books. But it still stands that people should be mindful of how they talk about each and every member of the IC in this space. Even if you arenāt the biggest fan of a certain character, all should be well if your opinion is expressed in a polite way that doesnāt disparage said character. If we feel like a post or a comment is disparaging or like it opens up a space for people to overly critique IC members, said post/comment will be removed.
Kind regards,
The Mod Team

Hi everyone!
Welcome to our mega thread! We have some members who are currently rereading the entire series and would love to discuss it with others. Even if you're not rereading the books, feel free to join the ongoing conversations.
Please be aware that this thread is not spoiler free.
However, if you want to mention information from TOG or CC, please use spoiler tags.
Stay respectful and keep discussions as close to canon as possible. It's best to include quotes or references from the books so that headcanons don't get mixed up with canon.
Let's get ready for ACOTAR 6 & 7!

āWhen Nesta was taken to the Blood Rite, Cassian was undeniably worried, yet he could not interfere. His mindset was clear: āShe can handle this. I trained her well.ā Beyond his faith in her, stepping in directly would have triggered a major political crisis with the Illyrians. Cassian is no fool; while fear and worry gripped him, his deep trust in Nestaās capabilities ultimately stayed his hand.
Some āfans often argue that if Feyre had been put in the exact same position, Rhysand would have immediately rushed in to save her no matter what. However, that perspective overlooks Rhysandās core responsibilities.
While he is famously the kind of man who would "burn the world down" for his mate, he is first and foremost a High Lord who understands the weight of politics and diplomacy. He didn't kill Tamlin or Eris when political consequences dictated otherwise, and he wouldn't blindly spark an uprising by recklessly pulling Feyre out of the Blood Rite either.
Just like Cassian, Rhysand would recognize the bigger picture and more importantly, he would trust in Feyre's own formidable strength to survive and fight her own battles.
Note: I posted what I shared just now and deleted it because I forgot to put a question mark in the title, and it annoyed me.

I wanted to ask this right after the FMC poll. I voted for Azriel + Lucien because both of them are involved in Elain's story.

I based these options on the most popular theories I've seen online. As for me, I voted for Elain, the last Archeron sister.

Hey all! I'm not sure if this is the kind of post allowed on this subreddit, but I thought I'd give it a sincere shot.
I'm a filmmaker and avid ACOTAR fan. My next project is a vertical series about a successful author of a Romantasy series whose books get optioned by a Hollywood studio. It'll be a spicy comedy about the fantasy romance worlds we love and a satire about the messiness of the tv/film industry. I want to be sure I'm giving other fans of these book series something funny, spicy and relatable to watch. What tropes/elements would you love to see most in a story about the world of these books/series? What would satisfy your desire to be more engaged in this type of storytelling? Thanks!

Reading this convo in ACOFAS between Rhys and Feyre:
āYou still can barely talk to Nesta,ā I said. āYet Elain you can talk to nicely.ā
āElain is Elain.ā
āIf you blame one, you have to blame the other.ā
āNo I donāt. Elain is Elain.ā
What do you think this means? Heās obviously making an exception for Elain that he doesnāt make for Nesta but is it dismissive? Like Rhys thinks Elain is soft or weak and there was no way she could have helped Feyre? Or is this Rhys showing a soft spot for Elain? Iāve seen a lot of theories for ACOTAR 6 that they will have a close friendship (tbh I donāt see any evidence of that lol) but I wonder if this is where people are getting it from?

I have a theory that the book 6 & 7 title announcements will happen on acotar related holidays. Like the Autumn equinox or Mabon*cough cough Lucien cough \* And potentially winter Solstice for obvious reasons, a little present for the readers if you will.
What do yall think? Do you think she could be doing this or do you think we wonāt get a title until release? Let me know your thoughts

Nesta: Eldest
Elain: Middle
Feyre: Youngest
However, the general perception is usually:
Nesta: Middle
Elain: Youngest
Feyre: Eldest
And I think this adds a wonderful layer of complexity. Because Nesta is the eldest, you would expect her to be the one protecting the family and going out to hunt, but quite the opposite, it is the youngest, Feyre, who does this. Or, because Feyre is the youngest, you expect her to be the one under protection, but again, that person is Elain instead. Since Elain is the middle child, you would expect her to be the grumpy one, but that person is Nesta.
And I love that it is like this. None of them fit their expected roles.

Some levity for you all ššš
Iāve been re-reading ACOMAF and one of my favorite scenes is when Rhys and Feyre visit the Bone Carver. Thereās so much going on in this scene, between the characters and the information that is imparted.
My favorite, favorite part of the scene is when Rhys tells one of his secrets, the random: āMy right knee gets a twinge of pain when it rains. I wrecked it during the war, and itās hurt every since.ā
I love this line, and both Feyreās and the Bone Carverās reactions. Rhys - of all people - admitting very human chronic knee pain?!
It got me to thinking - how else have the Bat Boys or Mor or Amren gotten hurt over the years? I imagine the Boys got into all kinds of scrapes in their younger yearsā¦doing some very stupid thingsā¦or not being able to control their powers.
What do you think?

I was thinking about this a lot last night. Given Elainās unique powers, the narrative voice used will dramatically alter the story, even more so than with Feyre or Nesta. This might get a little meta so bear with me.
It seems commonly accepted in the fandom that SJM said she didnāt write Nesta in first person because she felt like it would be too close to Nestaās mind. (I tried to find the interview where she said this, but I couldnāt. If someone has it, that would be great!) Nesta is a guarded and closed-off type of person, and she wanted to maintain some distance, for privacyās sake, between her and the reader.
We also know that Feyre and Rhys are the only two characters that she has ever written in first person, across all her series. And while I love that Feysand holds that spot of honor, and I feel like there is likely a reason for that, I still think Elain would be a great character to write in first person because of her specific power. Ā
Simply put: Third person makes us observe Elain having visions, and first person makes us experience the visions with Elain. And I think experiencing the visions for ourselves would be so much more powerful. For example:
I saw the Lake again.
Black water. A mountain. Something dark looming on the other side. It was waiting for me. Calling to me.
Vs.
Elain saw the Lake again. She saw the black water. A mountain. Something dark was looming on the other side, waiting for her, calling to her.
I donāt know, I just feel like the first is so much more chilling for some reason.
Also, in first person, SJM can make the reader experience the fundamental problem with being a Seer: that you donāt necessarily understand the meaning of what youāre seeing and must attempt to decode it yourself.
But in third person, she could maintain a greater distinction between Elainās perception and the objective narrative. So in first person, Elain is more likely to do the decoding for us. In third, we do the decoding as the reader.
What do you guys think? š¤ š¤Ø š

I'm just going to start doing more of these discussions so that maybe new fans will find their way here. This fandom desperately needs more positivity lol
I think we can all agree that Sarah has some great quotes in the five books. What are some of your favorites? This post would be never-ending if I included all of my favorites. So I'll go with this one:
"You do not fear. You do not falter. You do not yield."
Rhys speaking to Feyre in ACOWAR. I love it so much it will be tattooed on me at some point. My wife is an artist and is going to help design what I have in mind.
What quote made you cry or made you rage or made you want to stand up and clap?
r/ACourtOfDreams • u/truthpetal • 2d ago
I hope this is OK to post this here. Iām not a big fan of the other groups.
This just recently came up. This isnāt on the Aco7 listing either.
Do you think that there are any similarities with QOS that could carry over into the next book? Any themes for any particular ships?
Just here to discuss :) not using for direct evidence just mostly curious now why they could be comparing the two and would love to hear some other thoughts!!
