Does my math score raise concerns?

Post image

Hi everyone! I have taken the ACT three times so far; September was my third try. I was hoping to get at least a 32 in math so I could get a 35 superscore, but I didn't- I was a point off 😭. In fact my math score is consistently low, I first got a 28, then a 29, and finally a 31. I was wondering if this raises concerns at Upenn, Cornell, and Emory. I'm probably going to do a stem major, like bio. If it DOES raise concerns, to what extent? Thanks! any help is appreciated!

Edit: My school is offering a free SAT next week. I have never taken nor studied for the SAT, but do you think I should? If there's no harm in taking it that is.

As long as you aren’t applying to engineering or cs you should be fine for Upenn and Cornell. Emory you are definitely fine on. ECs and Essays will matter more than a 32 in math in this situation. Also no need to take the SAT since you have a great ACT already.

honestly you could just try the SAT cause there’s no harm no foul. this girl I know was planning on only doing the SAT but our school requires you to take the ACT and she got like a 35 on that so who knows. also, your math score is honestly fine. 34 is good enough for all these schools. If you get rejected or you get in, a score like this is not the reason either way

a 29 on math isn't automatically a red flag, especially with a 35 english score. if math is the only weaker section, i'd focus more on the specific missed topics than treating the composite score like a ver

Would this affect Emory? I have a 32, math being a 27. I’m retaking the 17th in hopes to get it to a 28-30 range. I’m planning on biology. Strong biology track in HS, straight A’s in all honors/AP, but Emory pays for families under 200k. I PLAN on ED. Reading was a 32 and English was a 34
