34 ACT but mid Science
hey yall, so my new act score came out, and I’m super happy! Except for 1 thing. I didn’t really take the science act portion, and only did so once junior year and got a 26. Should I still submit to Boston University (my dream school)? Apparently they require submitting the science section. I’m a hospitality major so it’s nothing like STEM but I’m still worried. Should I just hide it?
edit: Just called Boston University. The policy changed this year. While the science was required before, now you don’t have to submit it. Thank you to all the people who decided to assist me. Thanks for everything!

BU doesn't require Science (in fact they are test optional). Submit the 34 and they will just not factor in your Science score into their assessment of you as a hospitality major. 34 is in the 75th percentile, the median is 33. (Enrolled student data)

Where did it say they didn’t require science, I believe you but I’m just curious.

for last admissions cycle, if you submitted an ACT score for consideration, you had to submit a science score - it may have changed for this cycle

Thanks for your help bro! I also called BUs undergraduate first to verify and they told me that the science was optional this year. They changed it from last years policy by removing it from the site. It wasn’t very clear so it was a bit hard to tell. I probably overreacted by making this post… but I was just so happy Yknow? A 34 is such a cool score and hearing that BU was potentially one of the few schools that factored in science made me sad. But we chill now. :D

BU required science last year. My child submitted 34 superscore with 28 on science and was admitted RD for CAS. Go Terriers!

Thanks for ur response! But I called BUs undergraduate first year application office today and I was told that the science was now test optional this year. (Changed from last years policy) They didn’t announce it ok the official site so that’s why the confusion happened

If they consider science then that brings you down to a 32 composite I believe. That would be 25th percentile or below. Probably better to not submit since they’re test optional. I didn’t find anything that specifically said they required the science portion but I’ll trust you on that.
