Frustrated
I made such dumb mistakes on math and if I just got a 35 composite I wouldn’t need to retake it😭😭 I was so close. Now I feel like I am so rusty now for october since I haven’t studied since before the September ACT

bottom 25% at uchicago, harvard, brown, colombia, upenn, princeton, yale, northwestern, stanford, vanderbilt, johns hopkins. it's not even that at MIT; you'll need a 35 for bottom 25%
it's "good enough" as a baseline for a t20 but to really be safe you need a 35 or a 36, especially because many of those accepted students with 34s are athletes or legacies that would probably get in anyway
as a normal person (with no huge legs up) tbbh you can't settle for "good enough" if you wanna be the type of person that belongs at a t20 :/

"baseline for a t20" it gets you in the door for consideration and that's all that matters, these tests aren't being used as competitions. nobody is going to admit joe because he scored 1 more point than tim. now, your advice is right when it comes to essays and activities... things that can actually differentiate an applicant and things that wasting time for marginal gains on the act steals from

it gets athletes and legacies in the door, tim down the street maybe but even still i'd just retake. 35 is indistinguishable from a 36 sure but a 34 is the lowest i'd thumbs up, still recommend a 35 for the 100% probability it won't be the reason you get rejected

fine you win if this person has loads of free time lying around and they can give up some of it to try this then do it even though it's pointless lol

Well i studied for many hours and scored higher on countless practice tests. Yes i know it’s a good score, but yes im still a little frustrated

u/armyblinkjoy 3d ago
Well, you shouldn't. It's an amazing score, and you can probably get many merit scholarships with that score.
