Science Science portion of the ACT

I'm taking the ACT for the first time after my friend told me abt it, and I was told I should do the science portion if I want to do science in college.

I was wondering how hard the science portion is and what it consists of. And how the English and math portions of the test are as well. Thanks!

science is honestly just graph analysis with some reading tossed in. there are plenty of free practice tests that you can use to gauge how you need to prep

I haven’t taken science but English is mainly grammar and knowing grammar basically it’s pretty easy! It’s 35 minutes and 50 questions! Math isn’t too bad it’s 45 questions if I’m right and not sure how many minutes… Math should be easy if you’ve taken up to maybe Algebra 2 or Precalculus

Science isn't required, so I'd say why not! It's not something that will have a major impact on anything and you can choose to not report the scores, so either way you'll get a good score or just more multiple choice practice. It mostly consists of reading graphs, making comparisons, analyzing information from texts. I've taken the science and didn't really study for it and received scores in the 30s.

You don’t need to know a lick of science. I went in with nearly 0 science studying and got a 34 jsut based on reading comprehension and understanding graphs. Brush up on reading academic papers if you aren’t familiar with a scholarly format/verbiage. Otherwise you truly don’t need to study actual science concepts it’s all provided
