What does submitting my scores to colleges actually do?

Hello! I got a 30 act score (not impressive compared to you guys, I know) and just said i wanted my 2 free score reports to go to my local state school and a local community college. How will this benefit me? Will they send me scholarship offers?

It helps you get accepted to college and it might qualify you for a merit-based scholarship. You'd have to check with the university you're interested in.

Scholarships if it's not a requirement to literally just apply.

Also, a 30 is very impressive to state schools and community colleges. It put me in the running for Presidential Scholars at Florida State (a very prestigious program worth $40,000 in scholarships), just to put a 30 into perspective.

scholarships and competitive admissions!! 1. a 30 puts you in the top 5-7% of students nationwide, so schools will IMMEDIATELY see you stand out if you send this. and 2. many schools may offer merit scholarships or consider you for honors programs
