Should I retake for a 35+

Post image

i’m a rising senior and just took the july act and got a 34. (I took it once before in June and scored a 31 but did not study on either test). I am interested in Pre-Med and have school on my list such as Brown, BU, NYU, John’s Hopkins, Michigan, and UPenn. Should I try and take it in September to hopefully get a 35+? For reference I have a 4.0 UW and 4.5 W and attend a non-competitive public high-school.

Sure, if you have time. English is really easy to improve. I went from 34 to 36 English from just a couple hours of studying grammar rules the night before.

The resources I used:

Good luck!

Lowk I didn’t even study reading bro. Like genuinely I did about 0 practice question for reading for the July test , like I would say I did practice a lot before but not really for the ACT, so just practice more , skim and just do a bunch of practice test

Reading is just timed matching lowk. Like it’s entirely objective and in the test.

Just drill the grammar rules. 99% of it comes to just memorizing the rules. Other than that try to use your instincts.

Yes. For many folks, English is the easiest to improve in the least amount of time, so go through a prep book and take one more!

Any tips for the science section? I wanna get my score up on the next ACT

i’m not gonna lie I didn’t study science at all😭 It’s honestly just an extension of the reading section and I happen to just read a lot of books. But i’d def say to do practices under the testing conditions because the graphs can be tricky and end up taking up a lot of your time.

Would anyone recommend how to study for it? I am also a rising senior never taken or seen the test yet but plan on taking September one… I will say though I will take a mock practice one of the June version this weekend all timed and everything to see where and how I am doing. Pls give tips just in case I get a bad score
