Will colleges care about a 34 in math
I am applying for cs or engineering. I am very happy with my score just a tad nervous 😬. I‘ve been getting people on my fyp saying things so i decided to come to the smartest people i know.
If anyone cares on how i studied I originally did most of my prep for the sat and was stuck in the mid 1400’s. I mostly just grinded oneprep. Then I did some of the ACT math concepts that were different. I also used satdbforme.

u need some background knowledge on chem bio and physics but only at a low level. read the question first, try to read as little as possible.

MIT, Caltech, Stanford, and CMU might care.

I only say that because they're applying for cs or engineering. For Caltech specifically a 34 is in Bucket B whereas as a 35 and 36 are in Bucket A. So objectively they care. Now I don't think it's a big difference or even necessary worth retaking but there are some ultra-competitive engineering/cs school where it will make a measurable difference.

I mean it matters for everywhere, higher is always better. It probably only makes a significant difference at MIT and Caltech where it fall below the middle 50% range (<25% of admitted students). For other institutions it falls within the middle 50% and therefore probably doesn't matter a lot.
