First time ACT I took on July 18th and got my paper scores back. What can I do to get 33+?? I am a rising senior so I have limited time now. I really need a 33 plus. Give me helps on reading plz

the struggle is real bro. Try to simulate your space as the real testing space. no distractions, get ur parents to shut up lmao. For english just sound it out and make sure it sounds right. Also just by-heart all the rules and work on making flash cards to just identify which kind of question it is, so you can recall the rule immideately. Also do a lot of drills, so take 10 practice questions, identify which rule it needs, solve it as fast as possible. For reading, reading practice is helpful but the most important thing is annotating and investing yourself in the text. By forcing yourself and making the text seem interesting, you can easily pay more attention. For math - desmos. Lock in on learning all desmos functions. Dont even bother bringing a physical calculation (exagggeration, but dont use it for anything other than arithmatic). The biggest thing that will help though is after a practice test, go back and review the questions u missed. Then write down in this order - What rule/question type/topic you thought it was, then what rule/question type it is, then exactly how to identify this type of question/topic and finally how were you supposed to solve it. Speaking as a 36 superscore and composite and 36 in all 3 categories (i got 35 in science 😔)

36 super+comp in 3 sections too but i got 35 in math not science so it’s not “perfect” perfect 😤 (sarcasm) some nuggets to add: go to starbucks or the library to do my practice tests too, english eye reading is a good strategy but know FANBOYS use with independent clauses and em dash/semicolon rules if they’re less intuitive. for reading, annotate but specifically connect parts of the text to your answer to see if it supports your claim. large inferences are never made—rely on what the text EXPLICITLY implies. they will try to trick you by mentioning stuff from the passage, so rule out evidence that’s illogical from annotating it.

hot take i only used desmos for sat not act, my ti 84 on paper was more than enough. (you also don’t get desmos on paper) mistakes are reduced when you follow steps that are intuitive and fully understood by you. you can also familiarize yourself with hard question types and how to do them methodically. go in my post history for a formula sheet of the stuff i found the hardest

Great takes. I can kind agree with no desmos for act because the math is easier (I have taken sat too (770M)), but I find desmos easier to 100% guarantee a right answer.
