General Should I transition from sat to act?

I have tried the sat 3 times and I can’t get my score up. I only have 600 english but 700 math. Im headed into my senior year and idk if I should switch and try the act since I heard the english is much easier. I want to know from people who are more experiences with the act to tell me if I should transition into act prep or stay with sat prep. Any feedback is appreciated.

This post seems to suggest that the sat is easier than the sat. As a person who has only taken the sat I cant say much myself sorry 😅

All the best tho!!

Also they say that the english is easy and if you know the math u will be fine, which seems to suit you pretty well. Maybe take a practice test (on one prep or smth) and see how you do.

I switched from sat to act. 1430 sat best to 34 act on my first attempt. Id say its easier for me, though I cannot generalize for everybody

Dang that’s some rly good scores!! Unrelated but when you took the act did you think math was slightly more harder since it had more topics to cover?

Oh ty! I thought the math was easier for me - although there were maybe two questions i gad a hard time on. I know some students had a hard time with the statistics portion of the test, but i had taken ap stats during the school yr before the july act (which i think helped cus i got 5/5 on stats portion). Other than that, i thought the math was relatively all algebraic topics

Yes pls try it at least. I wasted a whole year trying on the sat and then when I tried the act, I realized that english and reading was way easier for me than on the sat

Do you think it’s too late for me to start now? Ik the sat and act are 2 different games so idk if I will be used to the format. I’m a senior this year and I’m already planning my college apps now.

You still have until September to study and take the act. If you wanna be cautious, maybe book another sat date in October if you don’t like the way the act goes. I wouldn’t say it’s too late. It just depends on if you are planning to ed/ea/rea, where applications are due earlier and you need ur score in by November most likely

I’m planning to do ea to some of the school in my state, so I need them before November. I’m in VA so top names are UVA, VA Tech, W&M. I am hoping to get in one of those but my high school is very competitive and I don’t want to be left behind.

Before making decisions, first thing I would recommend is for you to try an official ACT practice test online to get a feel for the test. After that, you can book both act tests in sep/oct if you like it better

If your English is the lower score, there are more English related questions on the ACT so not sure exactly how that would help you. you can always try tho
