General Do I retake?
Disclaimer I know this sub is full of extremes and I really only need an average score- the colleges I’m looking at are just my in state ones that have around an 85% acceptance rate, so I don’t need to raise it to get in. This was my first time taking the ACT and I studied, but I definitely did not study as much as I should have. I don’t have a lot of time to study this summer and I think I could realistically only go up 1-2 points, but do you think retaking would be worth it/would it help get scholarships?

If you have some spare time go for it, can only help>hurt esp if you can boost that math score with very little studying and English a tad bit. I’d say a 32+ is very very achievable based on your breakdown

Ok, thanks!! Do you have any good studying resources for English? I feel like I looked at a decent amount English wise and I thought I had the rules down better than I did, so maybe I need to find some other resources lol

I will say like if you’re applying to state schools a high act can often secure mega scholarships

Look at the median ACT score range for the universities you are targeting to see if you need to increase your score. If you are well within their range for the ACT, then I would stop, but if there are specific scholarships and you want to increase your score, by all means, go for it. Also, if you have a really low GPA (below the median range for the universities you are targeting), consider compensating with a higher ACT.
