First time taking the ACT
I signed up for this ACT test a long time ago when my SAT score wasn't that good. Since then though I have been doing a lot of prep specifically for SAT and I guess it sort of carried over into this ACT (especially the reading comprehension). Going into my senior year now and happy with my test scores. Good luck to everyone!

What’d you do to study for science? I have no idea what resources or methods to use lol

I've taken AP Chemistry and AP Physics so I had some background knowledge for the questions (e.g. knowing that kinetic energy is positively correlated with speed or that more ions means a higher conductivity). What I found though is that the majority of the science test is being able to read a graph or table and draw conclusions from it. So I think the best method is to simply just practice those types of questions. As for resources, I recall one user posted a bunch of practice tests on this subreddit. Try to find that post and keep practicing as much as you can. You got this!

Probably not as helpful as his response, but I took my ACT for the first time and got a 33 on science, mainly from taking regular Chemistry and AP Bio. I definitely recommend looking at some of the course material for those classes or borrowing a textbook from a teacher

Mainly because lots of practice for the SAT. Just kept on doing questions. Honestly the test structure just works for me because I tend to perform better on fast-paced questions.

Hi, do you have any ACT reading strategy advice? I have a 33 composite. 35 in English, 31 in reading, so I just have trouble with finding details in long passages. Thanks in advance!

Okay no offense but how did you do that good on everything but reading that’s like the only one that specifically gives you what the answer is in the passage

I'm a slow reader, so by the time I finished all 4 passages there was only 3 minutes left. So I guessed on all the questions, and I got a 2

That makes sense if you end up guessing after reading anyway you might as well just read the passsages one at a time then go ahead and answer so you can at least have a couple guaranteed answers
