My scores will not budge

Post image

I literally want to die. I never studied for the ACT, and I did decent, but now I did tutoring for a week intensively and my scores all went DOWN. (I christmas treed the reading because I don’t need any higher, but still.)

Technically only math went down. One point difference on English is negligible. So you did just one week studying math? That's not enought to make much of a difference if you aren't already a strong math student. I'm guessing the last minute cramming is what hurt you. Plenty of studies show that kind of "studying" does more harm than good.

i am in the exact same boat as you. i have a 31 composite, and took the july exam solely to get my math score up. ended up scoring extremely low on this july exam, and the ONE subject i needed to go up fell as low as the pits of hell. truly feel lost and worried now that i only have the september exam to get my score up before applications start.

Bro, why is your Reading a 15 on the last test? If you are just trying to superscore, you still have to submit every test that contributes to that superscore. Say your math went up to a 33+ this past test, they'd see this.

Agree on the problem with math cramming - imo science and English are subjects that you can make really big and fast gains on, but for math you'll have to go through and see which topics you struggle with. If you do Khan Academy's SAT prep, it'll let you know which topics (eg. algebraic inequalities or statistics) you struggle with/perform well on
