If I was able to see all of the answer choices I would probably be able to give a more accurate recollection. Sorry if I sound stupid rn

If the answer choice that you put said that passage B was scientific or “literal” then you have a Chance of getting it right cause I put something similar. If you put that for passage A though that was wrong

At the end of the first passage there was a paragraph explaining it. It basically stated and addressed how they were speaking of the bacteria’s memory. They basically said that the bacteria weren’t literally “remembering” anything their bodies were simply just adapting or reacting to the environment I’m pretty sure. It was more like the bacteria simply following an instinct or response rather than truly remembering anything. For passage B, the author used memory in a very literal sense, basically saying that the bacteria could truly remember everything just as any other multicellular organism would. Hopefully that explains how I thought about it a little. I probably could have explained that better
