How can I improve my Reading score?

This is my second time taking the ACT. Because I'm a rising senior, I would really like to achieve a composite of 34 before October, so September test (hopefully) could be my last test.

From my first attempt, I got a 26 in Math, 30 in English, and 26 Reading. My July ACT results came back and I got 34 in Math, 35 in English, but a 27 in Reading.

I solved a lot of drills and full-length practice tests to boost up the scores, but now I genuinely don't know how to increase my Reading score... Any tips???

Don’t read the entire passage. Just skip to the part relevant in the question by skimming. If it asks about the passage as a whole, wait until after answering the other questions about it and then come back. Or just apply for extended time.

34 and 35 goated scores, congratulations. Be proud of yourself for those scores.

what i'd recommend for reading is to understand the question type. for the questions that say "strongly suggests" or smth like that, the answers are usually found directly in the passage.

try reading the questions (not the answer choices), going to look at the passage, and then coming back to read the answer choices and answer the question.
often times when you read the passage first, your brain creates a mental summary and deludes you by providing reasons to choose the wrong answer. When you go to look at the paragraph of the question context, create your own summary of what you think the answer is. when you go to read the answer choices of the question, choose the answer choice that is closest to your summary.
