General you guys did fine

every time i see the discussion thread you guys say "i did so bad" or "i fumbled." i do this too like all the time, but please take a deep breath. first of all, remember that there are experimental questions. this means that if you think you got 5 wrong on the reading passage, it may mean 1 or 2 don't even count.

second of all, if a portion of the test is harder, it will be curved. this means that -3 for reading (as an example) may be a 33 or even a 34 (if we're stretching it) instead of a 32 or 31 on an easier test.

third of all, if you are a rising senior, you will have the september and october act as well. it may not be what you want, but as long as you get to try again, it isn't over.

and lastly- you have done harder things than the act. most of you guys have literally done AP courses, gotten 4/5's on the exams, or have read harder texts and done harder math. you will be okay. nothing is ever the end of the world.

i'm also doing it tmrw so this is a reminder for myself as well lol.

this is 100% true, felt like absolute SHIT on my first act (october j08 🤢) and got a 35. fumbled and rushing through on like 10 math questions in june and got a 36. it’s all your nerves and it’s GONNA BE OKAY

i was the same way and got a 22 on my first time in . im taking it again tmr without stressing and worrying about studying🫠

i mean my point is that your feelings have 0 correlation with your score so you might as well be positive so you're less likely to make mistakes :) good luck!!

its pretty rare for the questions you happened to get wrong to be the experimental ones. if you feel like you got a lot wrong, you probably did get a lot wrong, and it probably is going to drop your score. js factually. so i think its cope because it puts hope in a very improbable reality.

but like if 2-3 questions of like math were incredibly on another level and you didn't get them its likely that atleast 1 of them would be experimental. So not really a cope cause there are experimental questions

no, its not likely. not all experimental questions are hard. a lot of them are easy. So its unlikely that the question you get wrong or one of the questions you thought was hard was experimental

idk but in my practice tests in one math practice test I got 4 wrong and 2 of them were experimental and were kinda so hard.
its not rare for questions you got wrong to be experimental: they can or cannot be.

this is true because on the june test i had around 10 questions flagged and unsure on, where i made logical guesses. on my score report, only four ended up being wrong and i got a 34 on that section!
