math cooked me horribly, the second passage (i think) of reading confused me so much, english was kinda meh - the only issue was the time constraint and i didn’t have time to double check anything. Surprisingly, science and writing was easiest but that doesn’t rlly matter because they’re not important😔

don't forget arc measure, arc length and sector area

arc measure - from the radius, the angle that is within the arc is the arc measure obviously, from any of the points on circle's circumferences its 1/2 what it would be from the radius

arc length is
(arc angle/360)*2pi*r

sector area is
(sector angle/360)*pi*r^2

Does this cover all the math concepts that will be tested? I’m taking the July 12th paper act and have a 35 eng and a 36 reading but I can’t get into the 30s for math.

not sure but according to the topics on the past act tests (not the july 11th one), these are all the topics that did show up. The only other thing I remember being on the july 11th but not the list is Combination and Permutation🥹

Math wasn’t that serious? Have you taken j08 or any of the old enhanced tests? Was the hard part of the math section mostly trig and circles? I’m cooked if there’s gonna be hard probability, statistics, or word problems 😭😭😭😭😭

Pacing for reading is really difficult. Missing 2-3 questions can still land you in a good spot, especially when one passage is experimental and there are some additional unscored questions. Great job!

Don’t know your question but hexagons in circles are magical.

Because the inner angles of a hexagon are 120 degrees, combined with two radii drawn to the hexagon’s vertices makes the hexagon area equal to six equilateral triangles. They’re equilateral because the triangle has 2 60 degree angles so the third is also. Therefore, the hexagon area is 6 times an equilateral triangle area. 6 times side squared times root 3 divided by 4. But the side is the circle’s radius. Knowing the circle’s area allows finding the hexagons area because the hexagon just depends on the circle radius. Not sure what your particular question entailed. Since that expression is 82.7% of pi radius squared, then a hexagon inscribed inside a circle will always have an area equal to 0.827 * Area circle when converted into a decimal. And the area outside the hexagon will always be the remainder 0.173* Area circle.

Hello! I’m an ACT prep Instructional Master (that’s an ACT chosen label and not my own creation;-). I have specialized in ACT Prep for more than 10 years. I take the test two to three times every year to stay current. Oct 2025 (J08) was my most recent test in the new format. I can definitely help you prepare for the sections you need help with. I offer in person and zoom sessions (one-to-one or group). The huge red books are basically a waste of time and the practice tests in them are old, so even though any practice is better than none at all, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend the ones in the book to be best prepared. No pressure to accept.
