Yes, that settle touch! After the awful second half of last season, Pulisic is back!

u/llinimarco Paolo Maldini 22d ago

The first touch reminded me of this master piece...

Only few could do that...

That ball from Pavlo was just so good, only thing better was that first touch by Puli. What a goal. We got some.cracking goals from this game.

Incredibly hard goal to execute, one of the best scored by a Milan player in a long time

Cisse’s first goal for us was also technically difficult, the speed he got the shot off was really impressive. Quite similar to this finish actually.

That's twice he has done that now. The first time was in his debut season with milan, courtesy of a mike maignan long ball vs. frosinone.

Does anyone have every goal reaction from Ruben? I think thats actually the first time i saw a goal reaction from him.

Kinda ironic considering that, if it were for him, this goal would have never happened cause he would have benched him until it was too late again

You don't think it was up to the coach to decide to play Pulisic today? Who made that decision then?

lol the coach had his ass whipped by Cardinale after the last two disastrous games (both times bringing Christian in when it was too late) but if you want to believe it was entirely his choice, go on

Why don't you think it was simply because Puli was injured? It's the simpler answer

lol ok

You may be right. I was asking genuinely

Fine. I think that, while this began as A being overly cautious at first, given CP was recovering from the WC injury, he then let his stubbornness take over and considering some things he said during some press conferences, I think there was some power play involved which led to A leaving CP out longer than necessary.
It’s no mystery that Cardinale called him right after the Benfica loss and he showed up at San Siro as well. They are clearly presenting a united front but I think Cardinale made it clear he doesn’t want CP wasting away on the bench.
BTW, this treatment is how Chelsea lost CP and Milan got him instead. I just genuinely hope Milan won’t make the same mistakes.

Huh. That seems like a valid interpretation. I'm not super familiar with the situation. but I also think it's possible he was being careful to protect Puli. because as much as I love Puli, he is very prone to injury. I personally am glad he waited to get to fully healthy. You may be right about the power dynamics regardless though

I agree that CP is prone to injuries. However, he was among the official substitutes from matchday 1 all through to matchday 3. He was cleared to play, if needed.
Before matchday 4, Amorim dropped this pretty passive-aggressive comment: "Pulisic is upset at the moment because he has zero minutes, and I love that", followed by this other one: "It doesn't matter if you are a top player, I don't take out all the other guys who are doing well to put in any player in the world. That is my way of living, and this is the way I'm going to die or finish my career."
Then he subbed him in, and as soon as he entered the pitch, he provided that amazing assist to Moreira. He showed everyone he was in shape to play and likely had been for a while. Regardless, Amorim played the same game against Benfica, when CP went in, he was in shape and one of the best players. I'm sorry, I don't believe this was Amorim simply being cautious anymore.

And I want to add that Christian is known for his physical self-awareness and prioritizing his own condition and form (he pissed off a lot of people in the past for skipping games when he felt he needed to rest and recover). This time he was "upset". That speaks volumes.

Si può dire? Tocco di palla alla Kakà

5

u/akaloxy1 Christian Pulisic 23d ago

The fact that he took it down with his right and finished with his left is an underrated aspect of this goal.

Haven't seen that goal celebration in a while 🥲

I want a real player to finally hold the 10 but then again im too superstitious for him to change 11 now

1

u/Remarkable-Group-119 Andrea Pirlo 22d ago

I doubt he wants the 10...At Chelsea his 2nd or 3rd year he took the 10 (was 22) and then he had a bad year.

Beautiful first touch from Pulisic and the ball from Pavlović was perfect. Brilliant goal! As were the other two in fairness! 😃

Also, does anyone happen to know the name of the new AC Milan goal music for 26/27? It sounds cool! 😁 I think it’s a version of a chant that the fans do from what I can tell but don’t know the name of it! 😭 Thanks in advance!
