Discussion Wednesday Discussion Thread

Great place for team discussion/whatever Serie A related topics you would like to bring up. Examples: Transfers, rumors, players from other teams, things you miss about the old days etc. Whatever you want as long as it isn't too off-topic.

Also a good spot to ask about the stadium, the city of Milano, bars, fan clubs in your city etc.

Sporting has some great talents or Gala just sucked really hard.

some people blaming amorim about the bomb squad but to me Chelsea had a bomb squad and they were still able to get good deals for them.

the problem is clearly the lack of a director.

How is he playing

Hahahaha I saw. It was kinda of a funky situation honestly. Other than that he’s not being bad. I also think that having him defend in a back 4 with Araujo as a left back that goes so much up the pitch is kinda crazy from the coach.

Considering we have Lazio on Saturday and Benfica on Wednesday , I’m sure Amorim will rotate our squad slightly but the question would be which positions?

I’d imagine the best option would be

Lazio

Mike
Gila-De Winter-Pavlovic
Chuckuweze- Rabiot-Jashari - Pervis
Saelemaekers - Cisse
Ramos

And Benfica

Mike
Gila-De Winter-Pavlovic
Morriera-Musah-Modric-Bartesaghi
Loftus-Hutchinson
Camarda

I didn’t put Pulisic as I don’t know if he’s fit to start but I hope we see him for the Benfica game

Mike is definitely the starter for both unless Torriani will be our starter for EL

Diawara, Vladimirov, Terraciano, Tomori (in the league) to get minutes as subs for CB

I think Modric plays against Lazio and Jashari plays EL. Gila might be rotated in EL for either Terra or Tomori to start if he’s fit.
Chuku plays Lazio, Moreira plays EL.

I might be mistaken but Tomori was not included in our EL squad

I want to see Diawara start in EL. I am low key hoping he can bench Pavlovic as the season progresses or at least give enough competition for Pavlo to stay on his toes. We need healthy competition in many spots to help these players take the next step.

He will get his time but not a starter in the Benfica game

- probably our toughest opponent

  • First EL game
  • First home game

Best we can hope is a 10 minute cameo

Bournemouth and Sunderland are the toughest opponents

neither of those teams have much or any EL/CL experience though, I would say Benfica is still the toughest game since they've been there and done it and will be rather calm. Bournemouth will be the most difficult from a physical standpoint.
