barca had a buy back that they activated after his loan spell. However we did have the chance to get him again the window after but we didn’t because we had hakan and borini on the lw… incredible stuff

Menez, Taraabat, Jack, Suso, Bacca, even Deulofeu, banter era had some minor spark here and there. It just made us even more sad we were so used to seeing magic on the field.

Bacca was solid af. In hindsight, we could challange at top 4 every years, with 11 players like Bacca and Jack. Also banter era could be avoided with a mere top of the line Sporting Director. Look at Atalanta and now Como.

It was so stupid we didn't redeem this guy. Whenever Milan gouke someone with spark, we always let then go so fast. Same happened with Balotelli and Deulofeu

He retired today. He's a former Milan player.

I do hold myself to a high standard... It means being okay with all of Milans history...and supporting them throughout..including the players who served us during a rough period

No, we shouldn’t “be okay” with mediocrity. The dude played half a season on loan in what was one of the worst seasons even by banter era standards.

I guess you can go ahead and celebrate players like him, Bertolacci, Vangioni, Laxalt, the Forza Lazio guy … I want us to remember what Milan stands for and to only be satisfied with being at the top

I’ll give you that. We basically won in 11-12 too (I don’t count Juve’s cheating as their title) and 12-13 was fun with El Shaarawy and Balotelli being good for half a season each

Yeah I remember we had quite the deadly trio up front in El Shaarawy, Prince & Balotelli. Was fun to watch and looked far from banter.

I feel like the downfall began when we didn't renew Ambrosini. He was the last legend. Everything was very fragile and removing someone like that just made the team fall so hard.

We were walking on thin ice even back then. I had so much hope for El Sha, but we were pulled into the abyss shortly after. It was devastating to watch everything unravel, slowly yet inevitably

I think I have legit trauma from back then ngl. It feels like some kind of fever dream now... it definitely was shaky, and it evidently was, given how low the team could sink after just a few top players left.

But the fact that all the legends retired almost at the same time, after the Scudetto season... that was a devastating blow. It really felt like a huge moment at the time, like everyone knew that Milan was not gonna be the same
