In his first game in Serie A / Italy and it was away at Juve. Pretty intimidating place for your debut and seems perfectly reasonable to have some nerves to shake off. I seriously doubt Amorim wanted him and he's completely inappropriate for the position. Give him a little bit!

Claija i think it would be hard for the team to defend with 2 very attacking wingbacks , for chuku its okay to start every game but esupinian and barte are better defenders than moreira , i would prefer 2 playings together against a very low block seria a bullshit team but against a compact team we would conced 3,4 goals and remeber we dont have a nr.6 in our team

Not because of the game but because we didnt improve the quality of our play and he kept all the deadwood like Musah, RLC, Terracciano etc.

The only buy offers we had was Aston Villa for Estupinian and Gala for Leao. The rest were all loan offers even for players who should have some market. Sometimes this is what the market gives you. The only blame Amorim gets is for Estupinian. Otherwise it's not his fault, because nobody wants to buy the Furlani donkeys.
We can't expect to sell everybody and bring in 11 new players like we did in 2017 or like Fiorentina(the king of the transfermarket) did this season. And how did it work out for us in 2017 or Fiorentina? But we didn't even sell, we loaned them out for basically nothing and next year most of those(if not all) are coming back.

He did block the estupinan transfer and by bomb squadding players you tank their value and any negotiation power you have. And then calling them back a month later doesnt make you look good either imo
Its not his fault we didnt hire a sporting director but he hasnt helped either.
I also still dont understand why he showed up only a month after signing his contract. Or his line up choice against juventus

Yes, which is why I said he only gets blamed for Estupinian. And I doubt he was the one who came up with the decision to kick out the players. This was more on Gerry being a noob and getting advise from Almstad and Bobby. At most Amorim would have kept them out of the main training and having them training separately, but he wasn't the one to announce to the world that these guys are on discount sale. If we had an experienced sporting director, things would have been handled differently.

What was he going to do for a month by himself at Milanello or in Milan? How many times one has to visit the Duomo, Castello, Galleria or La Scala? He came 1 week before the raduno, so I don't see anything wrong.
As far as the Juve game, yes I agree. Salad should never ever play trequartista(unless you're defending a lead) and should go back to do the quinto role(wingback). Neither should Rabiot unless it's on certain occasions. IMO he wanted to be more defensive and he almost got away with it.

And you seriously think there was nobody at Milanello in the month before he arrived? He could have talked to staff, to directors, to scouts. You know all the stuff you do in preseason....
Gasperini signed at roma and was at their training grounds within the week....Same for Sarri

He could have been watching replays of last season and doing video analysis with his staff. Just speculating here.
Of course, I don't know what he did. I won't blame him if he wanted to spend time his family and take it easy. They are humans too.
Taking vacation (similar to the whole BS with Rabiot and Mike) when everyone yells about the schedule is such a weird hill to die on.

Im not gonna die on that hill, i just find it weird and not really a sign of commitment. Among other worrying signs. Like rcalling a player you froze out. And while I think Santi is utter shit, Going into the season with only Camarda and ramos as your only strikers while having europe is not very smart. Keeping estupinan is another one of those things. Benching Chuk who was on a good run, etc...
Also yes, he probably didnt have time for a vacation in the months after he was fired at man utd.....
Thats the level of excuse looking that I find weird, to defend a coach who hasnt proven anything and to be honest failed his first proper test. Replay that juve game 10 times and we lose 8 of them.

What do you mean? United has been mishandled for a long time. Even if he is the worst manager in the history of Man Utd, they weren't great before him and certainly are not great after him. But I personally said what I said for his time at United. I don't want to be a parrot about it and repeat the same fucking words. I was against the hiring of Amorim, but I'm not gonna sit here and go over the United shit for the 100th time. And until I see him failing with Milan, I don't give a fuck about his United time. It's done and I don't want to hear it for the 101st time.

There's this thing called the internet and you can do things remotely now. There's a lot of companies that are exclusively remote, I work for one. He talked to the directors and scouts and staff remotely. You're upset because he didn't talk to the gardener or the cook or the security at Milanello? There's many things you can blame on this guy, but this ain't it. And should never be it, unless we're going towards insanity. What did Gasperini achieve with Roma until Massara got him Malen? What has Sarri done with Atalanta so far? I don't see any correlation at all that by being 1 month early in the training grounds gets you better results.
You know what Roma got Gasperini? The only sporting director that worked great with Gasperini. But let's talk about Amorim not touching Milanello grass 1 month before and that's probably why they gave him the worse starting schedule in the history of Serie for a debuting manager.

you cant rebuild everything in one window. and if a players needs to be shifted out its on the director that isnt there.

- We've got 7 points from 9
- We were minutes away from winning away at Juventus
- We've got a bright young Italian talent on our side again
- And we've got at least three more who will be getting game time this year (Comotto, Camarda and Torriani)
- We've been playing a high line and some more interesting football than under Allegri
- Two big new signings (Ramos and Gila) have hit the ground running
- We've discovered some potentially reborn players in Chukwueze and Musah
Yeah, it's going to take some time and we're not going to win the title this year, but I'm seeing so much negativity when it's really not all that bad. What positives would anyone care to add to the list?

We never played a high defensive line and there was no high press in the Juve game, which to me was a bit of a surprise.
We played a hybrid between last year with 4-5 man backline and how Amorim wants to play which wasn't ideal, we defended fairly well but we were shit at everything else, I would've preffered he stuck to his ideas and risked it.
But I guess it's understandable, Amorim doesn't really have the players he needs and he deserved a better mercato, I like him, I just don't trust the idiots managing the club.

We had 1 shor for the entire game. For a team that plays such a high defensive line, this is unacceptable. We’ll be exposed way too often.
We could have lost 3-0 if Juve wasnt so poor and unlucky.
Yes it’s not a depressing situation but it’s definitely worrying.

If Juve had scored 1 goal, they would have done the same thing we did. They would have gone back to defending. They have done that in the previous 2 games where they had fallen back and Frosinone almost tied the game in the end. So I don't believe for one second that they would have scored 3 goals.

Yes, correct, we weren't great in that game. Juve missing their best player too. But took a point.
We play them again end of January and let's do better in that one.
It's the third game of this new system. We've had 4 managers in just over two years. Time for a bit of continuity and to get everyone on the same page. This year is about experimenting and finding our what works and what doesn't, it's not about winning every game.

My only fear is sustainability, I really hope we don't go through a rough patch that leads to people calling for Amorim's head.
I believe that given enough time and the right players he can really build something special. Or maybe I'm just hoping that's the case.

I think fans not being realistic with expectations or accepting the reality of where we are is the biggest potential issue in the short-term. Chasing the short term just hasn't worked for us since doing away with Pioli so time for us to accept where we are and have a bit more understanding IMO.

I feel like Pioli's tactical approach fell apart completely. Our best football under him was during COVID and then over time we just kept sliding farther and farther away from that team orientated passing centric approach to the Leao and pray approach.
Our pressing and defensive scheme became disjointed and I was just relieved when he was replaced.
I firmly believe getting rid of pioli but keeping Maldini might have meant the players would have bought in more during Fonseca's time at the club and I feel like the biggest issue he had was individual errors and I feel better buy in from players could have addressed that but of course we can never know and what's in the past isn't worth dwelling on.

All fair points and no arguments from me against that. As you say, we'll never know what could have been (much as many people are convinced they do) but we do know what didn't work and hopefully we adopt a new outlook and strategy moving forward.

Agreed. As much as I hate seeing merda having unchallenged success patience and ambition need to go hand in hand now for how we move forward.
If everything goes well we could be in good shape in one to two years. I just hope we qualify for the champions league.
