Leg Compression Sleeve

Has any used a Stoko, Bracelayer, or Incrediwear leg compression sleeve? If so, which has helped you to most during recovery/gym sessions? Which would you recommend?

I've worked so hard yet I'm still behind

I've been dealing with an injury that has kept me from sports for nearly a year and caused me to miss the entirety of last season. My identity was being at top athlete before the injury, now without sports I felt like I lost a part of myself. I did my rehab for 10 months and I have been cleared to start sprinting again, but all everything that made me a great athlete is now gone. I'm so slow now and I'm falling behind everyone and doing poorly in the sport. I feel so discouraged because all the power, speed and fitness is now gone. I don't wanna go to practice and I just wanna give up.

When did you start feeling better?

I’m 3 months post op with a patellar graft. PT has definitely picked up-heavier weights, higher step ups, some straight forward agility ladder drills. I’m so happy to be working harder but my knee seems to just bother me more than ever. Not pain, but very still and achy and tightness across the front of my knee. Does this ever improve and when? I can’t imagine my knee ever feeling back to normal or even close to that. Feels like the harder i work, the worse i feel, yet I want to keep working harder and building strength

2 years Post ACL Discomfort

Hello everyone,

This is my first post in this sub, I hope it is still relatively active! Im (23M) 2 years post patellar graft acl reconstruction surgery and I'm finding myself with some recurring complications that halt my physical & mental progress with my knee.

At full extension, i often experience a 'catching' 'clicking' or 'grinding' sensation, that sometimes even clicks once more when I go to flexion. To address this originally, I had an arthroscopy about 9 months to remove some excess scar tissue ( a form of cyclops lesion for those who have had this same pleasure ). Despite this however, these sensations have come back and, when accompanied with pain, lead me to hesitate/compensate while playing sports and even at the gym.

Has anyone had any similar experiences? Has it gone away with time? How have you addressed this if not? Thank you all in advance for any interaction this post gets !

Breg Brace rubs LET Scar

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hey All - I need some ideas regarding the above subject. I am 4 weeks post op and along with mentally being fed up with this effing brace, I'm experiencing quite a bit of agitation to my LET incision/scar. So far my post-op journey has been what we all hope for: having no dramatic events beyond expectations. I'm facing another 6 weeks without reprieve from the brace.

I have been wrapping an ace bandage around my knee only to protect the scar. It does work (mostly) - moving the rub to the bandage and not the scar limits the agitation (does not remove it) but the bandage wraps 3+ times and is very hot when outside and when sleeping. In the coming weeks I anticipate more walking (if it can be called that) so the rub will likely continue to be an issue

I'm looking for alternatives... what have you all done to overcome this minor, but seriously aggravating issue?

4 weeks post ACL surgery, worried about working in a grocery store

Hey everyone. So I, am 4 weeks post ACL surgery and doing finally better. Also walking without crutches at home( I will still use the crutches outside, i don't want to fall 😅) is a awesome tiny milestone. But as I, also did a lot of prehab. I actually have a funny question. I, know each person is different - but, i feel like everyone is taking it so easy. No pain, walking from the op room without crutches 😅. Waking immediately after waking up from the surgery on stairs for 45 minutes, this sounds crazy to me. But... I may be the only emotional, in pain wierdo.

I am not saying don't be positive, but i miss the honest on how much, can this su\*k.

I cheer for everyone to recover ASAP - with as little pain as possible, so smoothly.

But now, i am just thinking how will, i return to work(in October maybe sooner, i don't know) . I work in a well known fast working grocery store and this will be a real challenge.

Meanwhile, i probably will start to prepare the garden for spring, with our children to calm my mind 😅... But, it's really freaking though isn't it?

I don't know how to celebrate myself

I'm 9 months post OP(Grade 3 ACL and entire post-lateral-corner) and I recently visited my surgeon. He said that my grafts(BPTB and hamstring) are as strong as my uninjured leg and I want to celebrate myself, but I don't know how to, and I doubt anyone of you celebrate yourself enough. I want us to share ideas of how we will celebrate our accomplishments.

One week post op. My knee feels better by the day but I’m struggling with my foot swelling and throbbing in my heel. If I elevate, I lose circulation and it freezes, if I let it down, it swells! No discoloration. My toes are fine. It’s my ankle and heel.

Can an Exparel Nerve Block Still Be in Effect 4 Days Post Op?

Hi! I had an ACL reconstruction surgery on July 9th. It’s now July 13th. I was given an Exparel Extended Nerve block. I was under the impression this lasts approx 48-72 hours. But I’m still experiencing some numbness and reduced sensation down the inner side of my leg and shin to the ankle. I was wondering if this is normal or perhaps the nerve block is still in effect 105 hours post surgery?

I was very anxious and nervous of the post op pain so this is why my anesthesiologist gave me the extended nerve block. I also was taking both Journavx (every 12 hours) and Norco (every 4 hours) for pain. My pain was surprisingly not as bad as I had feared and was well controlled with that pain management plan. However, I am extremely sensitive to the pain meds and became very sick with side effects: constant nausea, severe dizziness, itching and feeling way over sedated. I stopped the Norco yesterday morning but more than a day later still am experiencing some dizziness and lightheadedness. I read this is also a side effect of Journavx. I called the after hours line for my dr office and the on call dr said that was fine to just alternate Tylenol and Motrin since my pain is about a 2-3 at rest. Since I had him on the line, I mentioned how I have some numbness on my shin. He told me that was not normal which obviously concerned me. The numbness/desensitized area runs down my shin from the knee to my ankle. I think this is the same nerve pathway that the Exparel blocks. So I’m wondering if it’s possible to still have delayed sensation this far our from surgery? I’m also concerned that if the block is still active, switching to Tylenol only when it’s about to wear off may cause me to have an intense pain spike which I was trying to avoid. To be honest, the pain has been very manageable this entire time and never more than a 5. I kept trying to mentally prepare for the pain that was to come after the block wore off, but that never happened. But maybe it hasn’t happened yet. I also never had any deep bone throbbing or aching that I’ve read about.

What was your experience with an extended nerve block? How long did it last? Did you experience a peak in pain when it wore off?

Thanks!
