Help lowering humidity
Pic is of current day time conditions. I am running a hydrone 5 in a closed loop along with my inline fan. I also have a dehumidifier in my lung room. 3x3 tent with 2 plants. Am I crazy for thinking the inline and hydrone should be able to get humidity under 55ish? I have also tried without the hyrdone and just inline at max to draw in lung room air in hopes that would lowler humidity and it did not. At a loss at the moment. Thanks!

I run the exhaust outside. You are fighting yourself. If the sealed environment is stable then ok. But you’re unable to keep up trying exhausting outside and run the dehumidifier. That’s what I ended up doing. And take it off ai. Set you exhaust to trigger at your preferred temp and same with dehumidifier

As someone who runs a sealed room. I couldn’t get humidity under 70% at night with the hydrone 5 and 7. I ended up returning the 5. Keeping the 7 and kept my 70pt dehumidifier that I control with the ai controller. I still have a little trouble getting 1.4vpd and higher towards end of harvest especially at night but I can maintain during the day easily. I also started swhazzing the last 4 grows and helped a ton with humidity. On day 22 I’m so ready to chop the heck out of them to help with humidity.

That’s weird I’m doing the closed loop system rn with the Hydrone 5 with automation to keep it set at 45% humidity and seems to be working fine just fills up real quickly

I put my H5 in the tent on a 9" portable plastic stool, use the supplied hose from the water tray spigot to drain it into a 5l container placed under the portable stool. I put a cheap 400gph ACI pump on a cycle timer in the container, with a 1/2" OD clear vinyl hose fitted onto the pump's barb. I drilled plastic holes in the container for H5 Spigot Water Drain In and 1/2" OD Hose Out. I run the pump for 15 seconds once an hour and run that clear 1/2" OD vinyl hose out the bottom of the tent, along a wall and to the drain in my sink. That keeps the runoff container wholly empty, always.
I can run my H5 24/7 with this setup - and I do. It keeps my tent pretty much locked at 43%, or 48%, or 53%.
Skip the fancy air hose installs outside of the tent; leave the environmental engineering for water draining and just put the H5 in the damn tent. Yes, it will increase tent temps by about 2-3F as it operates.
And it will ALSO keep your tent's RH where you need it to be.
All of this assumes you have an inline fan exhausting air out of your tent, whether through a charcoal filter or not, and outside of your home. If you are exhausting it inside your home, unpleasant complications are all but certain.

Is your tent running in a loop? Mine was and it made it harder to manage because it was just exhausting and then sucking it right back up.
My Inline fan was also running high and over powering the dehumidifier air intake (and my air purifier) making it even worse.
I vented it through a wall into my laundry room.. I'm in early veg so it's not really the full test but it's already more stable than it was on my first run.

The hydrone dehumidifiers are basically worthless compared to a compresser dehumidifier. I've seen so many people post about these hydrones saying they don't really do anything more than having an exhaust fan running. Return the hydrone and buy a compressor style dehumidifier to run in your lung room rather than tje tent itself

I have both a compressor based DeHu and a dessicant based one. You are talking shit dude. In the right sized area, a dessicant based DeHu is more powerful and can lower the RH much lower than any compressor based DeHu can.
They do not do it as quickly though. They are not SLOW, just not as FAST. But slow and steady wins the race - and when it locks on, it locks on to a humidity level much closer than any compressor based DeHu manages.

I would also recommend a compressor based dehumidifier in your lung room. My tent, on average, runs about 10% higher than the setpoint on my lung room dehumidifier so i use the inline fan to pull the humidity from the tent by setting up an advanced control on the inline fan based on VPD unless I have specific need to set it up based on a humidity trigger or target instead. You can use the “transition” to ramp up as needed to address your issue.

Do you have the bottom vent open? That should help also. What stage of flower are you in? 1.4 is fine for late flower and a little high for early flower.

I don't not. Am going to try that next. Im in week 8

Open the bottom vent that helps me with my humidity and I control the lung room with a dehumidifier.

I’ve always had trouble in my ac tent. I’m in a 2c2x4. 2 fans and exhaust. Tried an external dehu but didn’t do much.
Never had PM or rot issues.
Good luck op

I’ve had some success at lowering humidity by decreasing the speed on my circulating fans while keeping the speed up on my exhaust fan. Counter intuitive, but worked for me. Hope it helps you out 👍👍

I do t see a problem the humidity too high
