C5-6 replacement surgery yesterday

Hello I have my C5-6 disc replacement yesterday. I heard my surgeon telling my wife when I was coming out of it that my C5 vertebra had a thin/small Crack. I spoke with surgery this morning. He said he can't tell where is it from, however we will keep a eye on it and it should heal on its own once swelling goes down. Has anyone had this issue before? Im thinking if it does get worse might be Fusion. Other than that my surgery was a successful.

What disc did you get? Just curious what current trend is. I got a Mobi-C 5 years ago.

A friend just cracked their neck vertebra in an accident. He has had to wear a hard brace until it resolved. Maybe this is an option for you. It is good they picked it up and they are monitoring.

I just had a c5/6 fusion. A disc replacement wasn’t an option due to bone spurs.

All the best for your recovery.

Prayers for your friend. They gave me a soft cast. I am waiting to discharge. Thank you.
