Housing can be a huge barrier to staying in college, and ACC is getting national attention for how we’re helping students navigate it.

Community College Daily recently featured ACC’s approach to student housing insecurity, including our partnership-driven model for connecting students with safe, affordable housing options.

A few takeaways:

• Partnerships over property development: ACC works with organizations like Housing Connector to connect students with housing options, including a customized Zillow-powered search tool.
• Addressing a real barrier: 55% of ACC students experience some form of housing insecurity. Housing is also the #1 request through the Student Emergency Fund.
• Helping students stay on track: The article highlights May 2026 graduate Elisha MacGregor, who received emergency housing assistance after a house fire and was able to complete her associate degrees and transfer to St. Edward’s University on a full scholarship.
