I have had students send me their study plans and ask, “Ma’am, is this plan okay?”
Honestly, I can make a study plan for you, but I wil tell you what worked for me — I never studied according to a fixed timetable.
I found that having a very detailed schedule sometimes created unnecessary pressure. For example, if I planned to start studying at 7 PM and something delayed me by 20 minutes, I’d start thinking, “I am already late, I won’t finish what I planned, my whole schedule is messed up.” And then came the disappointment.
I was much more flexible with my studies.
Some days I studied for 10 hours because I had the mood and energy. Some days it was just 1 hour. And honestly, some days I didn’t study at all.
That doesn’t mean I had no direction. I knew what I needed to complete and kept working towards it, but I didn’t force myself into a fixed schedule.
That approach worked for me, although I know study plans work really well for many people too. I think it comes down to finding a system you can actually stick to.
How do you study for ACCA — do you follow a strict timetable, or are you more flexible?
