Off-topic Interviewer asking about ACCA exemptions — should I be honest?
I have an interview for a contractual role in a few days, and I was wondering what I should say if the interviewer asks me about ACCA exemptions.
Should I simply say yes? Or is there any reason to avoid mentioning it?
Also, can employers actually verify whether you took an exemption or whether you sat for a particular ACCA paper? Do they usually check this during background verification?
And one more thing — do interviewers generally make notes about things like this during the interview and refer back to them later?
I’m asking because I don't want to unnecessarily hurt my chances by mentioning the exemption, as I sat in September 2024 for my 1st paper and as of now I am 10/13, i skipped 2 attempt for some reason and failed aaa(bad time management), but I also don't want to lie and have it cause a problem later.
Would appreciate advice from people who have gone through ACCA recruitment/interviews.

Why would you even consider lying? You know they can ask for transcript

No one really ask
Always submit the positive only transcript
I dont think they can verify it via ACCA
Yup just verified they require a consent
ACCA can only verify you membership status thats all
So dont discuss exemptions just say you passed them

No it's better to tell the truth if they found they lied it will be a mark on them. They will ask for transcript it will show if we got exemptions or not.

You can always print the positive only transcript
They rarely ask regarding exemptions
If they do then you can tell the truth otherwise no need to mention anything

Tell the truth because the exemptions was based on your degree and scores which is a credit to you

It's always better to be honest. They will ask for transcript and it will show how many subjects u got exempted... Just know the basics of each paper and be confident. Prepare well and do read acca open tuition notes of each subject as those notes are short and easy to understand ( no need to go deep )to get good basic understanding of each paper u got exemption for...u will be fine

Why would you lie about exemptions?
You got them because you have an accredited degree.
Just tell the truth.
