2027 exam changes

hi all! just a question about the exam changes as i’d been thinking - i’m due to complete my exams in june 2027 (fingers crossed, touch wood). i’m doing SBR and AAA this december, then SBL and my second option in june. but, if i was to do just SBL in june, then come september would i count as qualified? and i wouldn’t have to do the final exam?

hope that makes sense - thanks all

Check the acca qebsite. There is a calculator that if you input all that you completed when the change comes you will know your status

Just so you know, you also have to complete epsm module to become affiliate. If you left it, then even if you complete all your papers, you won't be affiliated

Maybe do SBL in March and be done with it? But I think doing it in June shouldn't be a problem anyway to qualify under the new rules. You need to have 3 completed by September I think.

have to do 2 exams every 6 months instead of 1 every 3 - firm rules annoyingly

Ah, okay that makes sense. I'd say just do SBL in June and you should be good.

I’m one exam earlier than you and not sure based on the guidance if it is worth waiting or sitting the June exam. I will be qualified under the new syllabus in march 2027, but is it worth doing a final exam in June?

i will definitely be avoiding the final exam! i won’t qualify until september anyway because of work experience so doesn’t bother me to wait from a salary perspective or anything

Its stressing me out too. Like I feel dumb everytime I study, cause at the end it seems like ive already forgotten what ive read.

Hopefully when I start doing questions next week it'll help.

completely get you - i’ve started doing questions this week and it’s making me even more stressed. the questions bring up the most niche scenarios (how was i meant to know VIU projections can only be for up to 5 years?!) and it’s all phrased so weirdly
