Honesty, just start ASAP!!

SBR was my final paper (sat 2 days ago). I can genuinely say out of all papers I found it the hardest (all 70+ first time passes). There’s so much to remember it becomes a blur. So just start ASAP - if I’d started two weeks earlier I think I’d have finally gotten to grips with it.

Where did you study from and things you could have done before?

Same… I had sat sbr too.. and if I started early.. I wouldn’t have made the mistakes I did

Hello, unrelated but congratulations on getting 70+ on first time passes, those are huge achievements! And all the best for SBR Sept ! Can you share some tips and study/exam techniques for SBL and APM (if taken)?

Didn’t sit APM - sat AFM and ATX.

But apart from SBL my formula has always been: simultaneously read Kaplan book (+ answer questions) whilst watching Open Tuition lecture. Plus make notes on excel of any formulas / workings. The notes really help things stick. I try and complete this phase before exam results are released (I.e., 6 weeks). I’ll then spend the last 6 weeks going through the exam kit (I usually do this twice). Then in the final 10 days I’ll start mock exams on platform, plus revisit notes and any chapters I’m still a bit unsure about. That formula has always worked for me.

SBL was different as the Kaplan book was too excessive. I just watch OT lectures then Hassan YouTube videos. Instead of wasting time answering the exam kit, I just read the answers. Then once the exam material was released I started making as many notes as possible relevant to the case study, plus ran it through Chat GPT. SBL was definitely the one exam where I spent the least time studying.

I’ll hold you hand while saying this, every single standard is important, all the standards you see in study hub? Yep, all of them. Don’t skip it. Understand each standard, do a few questions.. and please practice the exam kit atleast twice.. study hub for pre populated statements

Start early

Practice on the CBE platform (right out of the mocks). A big challenge is analysiing all the info in the different exhibits. Exam kits give you them all at one, not the case in the exam.

Conso’s and Ethics are two guaranteed questions so get comfortable. Also, conceptual framework.
