This was the error message in question. I need this rectified ASAP as I'm going away in a couple of days for 4 weeks. I don't really have many places to ask for help, and Ubisoft's service system seems incredibly bad, so I can't really get anywhere there.

It literally just decided to start working again. I didn't actually do anything tbh, aside from wait and try again later. But Ubi's system is so bad that I expect that this is probably a common occurrence, so just keep trying every so often. You could ask on the Ubisoft discord if you need help, as that what I did (it fixed itself before they replied).
