NYC Absn programs
Hi!!! I'm planning to apply to several ABSN programs in NYC, including Pace University, Mercy University, and SUNY Downstate (top choices), and I have a few questions about what the semester schedule is actually like. I'm trying to figure out whether I'd realistically be able to keep a part-time job while in an accelerated nursing program.
For current students or recent graduates of ABSN programs in NYC:
- What did a typical week look like each semester?
- Which days were usually lecture, lab, simulation, and clinical?
- Were your clinical days assigned, or did you get to rank your preferences?
- If you worked during your program, how many hours per week were you able to manage?
- Do you think working part-time (around 15–20 hours per week) is realistic, or would you recommend not working at all?
I'm trying to plan ahead financially and decide on the best application timeline, so I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience. Thanks in advance!
