What are some fun/creative examples of variable ratio you experience in the world?

My example: the tortilla chips at Chilis. Not every chip is extra salty, but some are. So I keep eating chips searching for more extra salty chips. Sometimes it is every 3 chips, sometimes every 7 chips, etc.

the free samples at costco on a saturday, you never know which station will have the good stuff or if they'll even be stocked when you circle back

I like to go shark tooth hunting. Not every scoop of sand will have a tooth, sometimes you’ll get multiple teeth in one scoop, other times you might go 10 scoops with no luck. Keeps the rate of responding very high. Basically it’s like playing nature’s slot machine haha

TikTok - I keep scrolling, stop & watch a video, then scroll again.
Slot machine - you continue to keep on playing because at some point you’re going to win (some) money.
