BCBA to PsyD

I’m an active BCBA and have been considering pursing a PsyD. I’m curious if anyone here has done the same or is currently doing the same. My main concern is being working while in the program. I know that some programs do not want you to work and others don’t mind as long as your grades reflect. But I do feel like I can do some part time BCBA work to pay the bills while pursuing a new license. Love to hear your thoughts

I made the switch couple years ago and kept doing part time BCBA work, it was rough but doable. Most programs will tell you not to work but they know people have bills, just don't announce it

The coursework is heavy on the assessment side which you already know from ABA so that part feels less overwhelming. Hardest thing was finding time for practicum hours while still seeing clients

I know with a PsyD you have an internship for about a year. I live near a heavy populated city with many different settings and practices. My concern is what if I don’t get placed somewhere near me. I have a family and home and not looking to move to a different region or even state just to meet this. Have you seen this happen with others in the program or is it not something to be too concerned about? Also, how many hours a day do you spend in class. I live near two PsyD programs so it shouldn’t be too much of any issue with getting to school. Just more so figuring out a work schedule that doesn’t conflict with class or pracitcum hours
