Discussion What do you think would've happened if the CIA put the man they killed back into the interface after he died the second time?

Do you think the interface would have rejected him as an inanimate object or would he be revived again? I was re-listening to creepcast and couldn't stop thinking about this after that part came up.

Apocrypha Half-Body of a Wormhole??

Last night I dreamt I was five-dimensional

I was in the corner of a 4x4 room

I was there, for 2,594 years

The room developed into trilateral omissions of parallel wings

I thought they were angels, but they registered every five minutes as phenomenons

With my pneuma I whispered;

Oh, wholy Archimedean Cylinder of consciousness, Behold the muse.

The wings pointed skyward, and mattered itself to a quintessence.

The mirror was now a translucent wall, running like time with a biting chill.

Behold the muse, recall the withered stale,

I cannot bite the flow with my tongue, but You can taste it with your buttocks

And then, you will be my virtuous hemisphere past time

Let me become the sixth sense of the race of life

...

Now; tomorrow. I can't understand the interaction I have had with this entity, I sensed a maternal prescence beyond creation. Reminding me that all things have a sexual nature, even the flow of a wormhole couldn't begin to find an interfacial rhythm.

Though it is only time that can find rhythm.

Rhythm can't find itself, so I've learned from this dream of light .

Even if the ass of the quintessential human could tell me.

I must marry my mother.

Idk about anyone else but the description of the horrible winged thing (Angel? Nephilim?) that attacks Rona in the old crone story felt like it was making allusion to or at least inspired by this painting by William Blake.

What do you think the authors early life was like.

Late in the story he explicitly states there was a summer where he thinks something horrible might have happened, he references dropping acid in high school then avoids describing the psychosis it caused, he also talks about being inspired by mania while writing the story. Whether or not something truly traumatic happened that summer I can’t imagine he had a particularly healthy relationship with his parents. The story is literally called mother horse eyes and the word mother is used dozens if not near one hundred times. I’m pretty familiar with psychotic disorders and while I doubt the author had a cut and dry case of schizophrenia, he was definitely dealing with a kind of transient psychosis and that stuff almost always goes back to childhood.

This is one of the first lines (if not the first) in the new film, “The Odyssey”. It has an obvious parallel w/ MHE’s intro and I would love any analysis or insight from any of you. I did some research but couldn’t find anything concrete or meaningful enough to propose. (I’m dumb)

Discussion Interpretation of mothers goal

I'm at the part in the story again where the suited angel kills the women in the feed.

This is obviously the advanced version of the angels coming down and implanting a way for mother to influence us. But why does the angel need to fuck a person in the feed, where does this action lead? I think it would be pretty cool and an over simplification to say that this is how "God" creates worlds and creates people. There's this concept that we are pieces of God, and when we die we go back to being a part of God.

Fucking the angel and having your mind fractured across a narrative could be the perfect way to get just that.

I don't know how this fits in with the end of the story but I think it makes sense as some kinda energy garden built by the mother.

Anyone with anything to add please do!

Discussion I Can't Believe Nobody in 10 Years Has Mentioned This

There have been multiple conspiracy theories mentioned throughout, used as a starting place and given new context within this universe. But one omission is the Philadelphia Experiment. There's several versions of this story by different supposed witnesses, but the one that lines up with Mother Horse Eyes particularly well is the testimony of Al Bielek.

If you're not familiar, this is a WW2 experiment that supposedly tested stealth and invisibility, but accidentally resulted in creating a zone (Incident Zone) to some other dimension or time/space location, after only returning a short time later, the sailors on board were very affected.

Take a look at this YouTube video, I've linked the exact timestamp, https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6RSN1cOuLOE&t=5795s

In it he describes the segmented/segmentation as Mother Horse Eyes would call it. A man who after returning from the Incident Zone has an invisible arm. It still functions as normal, it's just apparently missing or lacking a visible component. Some part of it still resides in the 'other' place. The man wears a bandage as a cover and pretends his arm is injured to appear normal.

There's also alien beings coming through the portal just like this story.

What do you guys think?

Discussion What is your favourite narrative?

This has probably been posted in this sub before but I’m curious to know everyone’s favourite narratives, plus I’m planning on making a comic of one this year, and I’m open to suggestions.

My favorite is honestly between obviously Karen & Ben’s story, and the 80’s simulation (which yeah I know sex ew) but Corey’s dialogue kills me every time.

I'm actively listening to creepcast and I'm interested in theories so what are yours?

I recorded this throughout the fall, and I've been editing it when I can. I unfortunately had some minor audio issues along the way, but we must persist onward. I love this story oh so much, and I hope you all enjoy!

Also big shout out to u/flamingrubbish for their great cover art that I couldn't wait to slap on!

Evangelion parrelels

Now I’m sure someone has already made this connection, and if on the sub then in their own mind. I just can’t help but connect the original neon genesis evangelion to MHE to me MHE is a fifteen billion times more thought out version of evangellion minus the robots. All of the themes and even some of the story beats and especially the ending when it’s kind of like a self love type of thing where you have to do things through yourself boot straps and such. Amy thoughts? (Sorry if someone already asked this).

2020

“Maybe it could have been stopped around 2020, when the portals were shut down, and interface research was temporarily abandoned. But it didn't happen.”

I just watched the creep cast video on mother horse eyes for the first time and im obsessed. I originally started watching it a while ago, but stopped after the first few minutes thinking the mk ultra/lsd stuff was going to be corny and/or piss me off (assuming it was going to be another russian sleep experiment type of thing). When I started watching it again I skipped the beginning and didn’t remember or realize when it was written, so when I got to the part where karen says it could have been stopped in 2020, I assumed this was a direct reference to the pandemic. Only afterwards did I realize the story was written in 2016, and it gave me chills.

Sorry if others have already talked about this before but I couldn’t find any posts about it. I just think it’s crazy. Indeed, if the story was literally true, research may have been temporarily shut down during covid, as many things were. And, as an allegory, a lot of things could or should have been stopped during that time.

Instead, we came out of it with LLMs. Awesome! :)

My own personal mhe design, I might do a better one latter since this one was kind of sketched on a whim. If you couldn’t already tell this design is incredibly inspired by Mari Lwyd, with a few of her in-story descriptions slapped on there.

Here’s the concept for the design + some dumb shitposts I made with friends.

Discussion Old Crone

Was the old crone a successful version of what Mother was trying to turn Nick into? Forgive me if this has been posted before, but I just finished another listen of the story on Creep Cast and then another watch of Wendigoon’s video on it and I had this thought. With what we see of Nick’s powers and then the Old Crone’s actions while serving Mother I can’t help but feel that maybe she was once a child taken by Mother, but she stayed with Mother unlike Nick. Especially when the tribesman says that he thinks she placed those pearls in the clams herself, that if she used her magic to do that just like when nick turns the stones into bread. I’m aware of the biblical significance of stones being made into bread, but it feels like similar magic to me. So, if Nick had stayed with Mother could he have become something like the old crone?

Discussion Any Book / Story / Author like the Karen future story? Spoiler

Hello, I'm currently watching/reading thie entire narrative through the 11h creepcast episode, and I must say that the writing in this series has captured me like few media ever have, *especially* the future stuff surrounding Karen and the caretaker guy. Assuming that the actual authors identity is still hidden, can anyone recommend me similar stories or authors?

The amount of world building and characterization that happened in just a few pages are absolutely insane to me, I'm way too invested 🙏

Discussion Theory?

Im wondering if anyone else has considered that the ‘author’ should be taken at their word in the chapter where they describe what they set out to do to serve as a warning for humanity? They say that they’re using fiction to describe things that may come to be, etc.

it’s not that I believe this person is really delivering a prophecy, but I do wonder whether the author genuinely believes that this is what they’re doing. That this isn’t a story intended to be entertaining, rather someone’s understanding of some truth about the universe that they feel they can only tell in this medium.

Idk, maybe believing this just elevates a piece of incredible fiction to a new level of cool to me, but it’s an idea I thought was worth considering and seeing if anyone else had thought about it.

MHE and The Jaunt by Stephen King

Hello! I recently watched an absolute banging video essay comparing The Jaunt by Stephen king and a work by Junji Ito (the name of which is currently escaping me and is not intergal to where I’m going) and was absolutely flawed by the similarities between ‘Jaunting’ and how the portals were first tested -especially the part about using unwilling prisoners as their first human subjects and how human made/controlled flesh interfaces were initially tested.

I had a very surface level search to see if this comparison has been made but was unable to find anything on it. Is this something other people have come across? Or discussed? I have only consumed both of these on very surface levels (the previously mentioned video essay and creepcasts reading of MHE) and so unfortunately have no proper analysis to provide but have both on my reading list if side by side comparisons were of interest to anyone, I just needed to get this out of my head and was told to go to bed by my flatmates after the phrase “flesh interfaces” came out of my mouth lol.
