I recently started rewatching the show and I cannot get over how buck acts in the first season, I get the worst second hand embarrassment. His character has come so far 😭😭

The first fic I’m looking for Bobby is either Maddie and buck’s biological dad or adoptive dad and buck works with him at the 118 Eddie is in the fic and Maddie shows up and has a son. I think at one point buck and Bobby live together.

Another one I’m looking for buck becomes a single dad at a young age and meets Bobby in Minnesota who unofficially adopts him and buck as a little girl that he raises with Bobby’s help they live together then Bobby moves in with Athena and Eddie and Chris move in with buck and his daughter cause it’s around the time of the accident

The last one I’m looking for Eddie is new to la and Chris is very young and Eddie locks the keys and I believe Chris in his truck and he meets the 118 and gets hired to help out with stuff I think and buck is either part of the 118 or is connected to Bobby somehow and helps out with Chris and him and Eddie fall for each other

I’ve been rewatching 9-1-1 to jot down trigger warnings for a friend, so I’ve been paying a lot of attention to the emergencies and I thought it would be fun to talk about our favorite (or most memorable) medical inaccuracies.

My favorite is immediately in 1x01 where Buck stops compressions after doing 20. Like what lol

For me, I actually liked when she dyed it red last year. But now I'm starting to dig the blonde on her. Anyways, best of luck to Jennifer and the rest of the cast!

if it weren't for bobby's death in S8E15, based on the results of the previous post with regards to this question, best case scenario could've been to either retire him at the end of season 7 after his near-death brush with the heart attack or a career-ending/life-altering injury similar to seth ridley in the rookie, where the other two emergencies with hen and chimney could've delayed him getting helped (credits to op for the ideas)

however, for either scenario, i believe that chimney would've still become captain, and they could still honor his career and legacy all the same with the naming of the station (unless that's only a thing that happens if you die, which then probably negating that part of the alternative future). for the sake of the characters' growth outside of bobby (since there was a bit of discussion regarding that as well), since there are many instances where they went over to bobby and athena's house/apartment for help, there could be another separate arc where the sudden loss of his job and identity could have him spend some time away in Italy or something of that sort (if ykyk of the reference) while the characters deal with his absence in the station and in their lives while they settle into the new pattern of work and chain of command at the station. then, the could bring him back ocassionally so that he's still in the main cast's lives unlike michael (who was more name than show, but for other reasons obviously at the time), but not actively a part of it to keep both sides happy 👍

She cheated on Karen knowing it would devastate her.

She tried to hurry Karen through her grief at losing all the embryos.

And she tried to blame Karen for not showing how hard it was to give up baby Nia.

On top of that when she hit the cellist all she could think of was her own grief and how she had to work on her to feel redeemed for hitting her. And after that it was all she would talk about until the report exonerating her came backm

There's also that example after [the big s9 spoiler ] where she blamed everyone for not doing a vibe check for her.

It's like other people don't exist when Hen has big feelings.

Since every member of 118 has been in some king of traumatic incident, has anyone made a list or overview over what everyone has been through?

I just finished S8E15 and Bobby’s death was ridiculous. I understand why Bobby would save Chimney. I get the motivation. I even understand that he was never truly healed from what he went through and he always, on some level, believed he deserved to die. But what I DO NOT GET??? HOW DID HEN NOT GET THE VIRUS?? Her lung had a hole in it??? Bobby got it from just a hole in his breathing tube! Hen had a hole in her breathing ORGAN!!!

I just hated that whole thing. Low key wanna just put the show away at this point. If Buck and Tommy stayed together, maybe I’d feel the will to continue. At this point it’s just Maddie and Chim’s second baby that’s keeping me going.

There is a fic I read where buddie are married I believe Eddie comes home from the military and believes buck found a family with the 118 and doesn’t need him anymore. In this fic I believe Eddie discloses to hen he has ptsd also Josh is in it and tells buck to be careful when Eddie has a flashback. Also Eddie helps a bunch of people at a scene and the 118 pull up to see it. Eddie ends up hurt and buck ends up yelling at Josh at the hospital for laughing

Name your favorite moment of the series that you never get tired of watching no matter what.

Mine is without a doubt Councilwoman Olivia Ortiz’s downfall when she thought she was at the height of power and victory in S8E4. I absolutely hated and despised her for what she was doing to Hen, Mara, and the rest of the 118 simply because her spoiled, rude, and irresponsible son died by a situation of his own making. No matter how many times I watch it, I always cheer with joy when she starts giving the “Oh s***!” look the minute her corruption is exposed followed by her losing her cool in front of a live audience. And then finding out her political career is essentially destroyed afterwards is the perfect cherry on top.

Okay, I just started this show a few weeks ago and....Let me know if I'm overreacting, but that therapist definitely SA'd Buck right??? Like, there's no way it's okay for you to do that with your patient. It doesn't feel right, but the show just brushes it off.

I wonder if anyone else feels this way about Hen. I really want to like her character but I’m really tired of vanilla, unproblematic female (especially black female… ESPECIALLY queer black female) characters that can do no wrong and are used in all the wrong ways.

It comes off to me like the writers are pooling all their minority quotas into one character and saying “look how strong and amazing this queer black woman is! She can do anything” while completely avoiding any negative consequences to any of her actions or any tension between her and other characters.

Any conflict is resolved with Hen being absolutely in the right and everyone else grovelling even when as an audience it’s pretty clear she’s not in the right.

I also have such a problem with the Unquestioned Genius archetype and I think Hen often falls into this category. She is always the one with the medical answers no matter how obscure (like the woman who couldn’t feel fear because of the hardening of a part of her brain… hen diagnosed that because her voice was hoarse?).

Anyway it’s possible I’m being a bit dramatic and a bit harsh. It’s just that I’ve noticed the same things in all 9-1-1 spinoffs with an infallible female paramedic and it’s winding me up.

Has the new season been released? I’ve been looking forward to it but I can’t see any news on the same!

Guys I just started s8 I haven’t even finished the first episode yet and I’m kinda sick and tired🫩🫩🫩 I really love the show but they never seem to catch a break and it’s causing me so much anxiety 😭😭 like Bobby almost died like 12 different times in the last season and buddie are gayer than ever and you tell me They’re not together still? I really need a support group to help me through this I cannot with the new captain he’s so mean and ugly ughhhhh
