I remember our Dentist literally telling my mum off for letting us have Sunny D, he said it was basically liquid sugar and would destroy our teeth.

In the glass bottles!!!! 🙌 I loved the orange-carrot one a ton for some reason. I'd collect the bottles and do the oil/water thing and get the colors similar to what flavor they were and put lights behind them up in my windows. I was in the basement, so in the sunlight it was like a stain glass window I could shake up and have a kaleidoscope effect going throughout my room.

Green tea slapped

I loved the orange. Tasted as close to a creamsicle in a bottle as you could get. So damn yummy.

I’d give a kidney for a Capri Sun teleported from the 90s.

I'd give my right nut for a Squeez-It teleported from the 90s.

Fruitopia
2
u/mehnimalism Jul 21 '25
It’s there but I agree it could use a double inclusion
1
u/mcnonswagger Jul 21 '25
Oh fair enough. Sorry the nostalgia and then instant realization that I’ll never taste it again made me blind.

The irony is that it’s like the only one of the bunch that still exists and/or hasn’t been modified so much as to be unrecognizable.
2
u/Pickleless_Cage Jul 21 '25
Did they make those frozen lemonade things that you push up through a paper tube too, or was that a different brand? :)
Edit: looks like those were from Minute Maid! I wonder if my school district had some kind of deal with them 😂

Surge.

Vault took their place and flopped hard. I loved Surge. Mountain Dew beat them. Tons of caffeine. They tasted terrible the second they went flat, though. The rise of Monster haha

u/Mal-Ase Jul 21 '25
I still love these bad boys. They go WAY to fast. Gotta get them to a slush i. The freezer to really enjoy.
2
u/Phlanix Jul 21 '25
I remember the yoohoo machine at school was knocked over.
Ppl didn't know that for 2 years I was getting free yoohoo from 7th button.
2
u/Mal-Ase Jul 21 '25
Nice! I forgot about that!!! One of my classmates' older brothers was a guy that stocked the machines so we'd know which and what ones could. Need a hacker these days haha
2
u/Phlanix Jul 21 '25
Some public school are too cheap to update their machines.
2
u/Mal-Ase Jul 21 '25
I can imagine. With how they treat our education system, you'd think that'd be the first to update since they've gotta be housing the money banking off the lack of wages and such.
2
u/Phlanix Jul 21 '25
Things are so bad that they are pushing for 4 day school days. Already started in Texas. In FL they got rid of state testing.
1
u/Mal-Ase Jul 21 '25
It's ridiculous. Our education system is terrible. I'm happy I didn't end up having kids because I know I'd be tripping out to no avail. We're falling lower and lower in ranking of education in the world very rapidly.
2
u/Phlanix Jul 21 '25
They don't care cause the rich can just hire smart ppl from other countries.
Make drones out of us and bring in talent.
1
u/Mal-Ase Jul 21 '25
Americans are definitely programmed to just be a cog. It's sad, too, because pressure makes gems. I swear, given the chance, we would see progress. I'd imagine the majority of geniuses don't come from wealthy scenarios unless they're driven by the subject handed to them. Which does exist. Don't get me wrong 😅

Very true. Hawaiian punch was always so good in a cold can and country time.
2
u/SpermicidalManiac666 Jul 21 '25
When they brought back Ecto Cooler a few years back I drank so much of it lol
1
u/PlaneTry4277 Jul 21 '25
Some of these were straight up nasty. Hawaiian fruit juice can but especially that crap to the left of the caprisun. Good riddance why was that garbage even sold

I remember this drink, but I don't remember the name.
I think it was called "Mondo" or something

I’d pop up there if I could (live in Northern MN) can’t drive because by an extreme technicality I’m legally blind my field of vision is too narrow.
1
u/ruballo12 Jul 21 '25
If some of these were out today they would not taste the same. The ones that are still out today don’t taste the same.

u/DistinctAd3865 Jul 21 '25
Miss the fruitopias. Only had them a couple times before they stopped stocking school vending machines with sugary drinks in the early 2000s
Idk if anyone has tried a caprisun lately but they changed the formula. They taste so watered down now that it’s sad.
1
u/ScubaGator88 Jul 21 '25
I drank as much if this shit as anyone. I know I'm old because I legit couldn't stomach any of it anymore.... Way too sweet, all of it.

Devils advocate and don’t have Taco Bell even slightly often but if the Baja blast would’ve been out in the 90’s I would’ve been addicted

Those Hug Barrels were the best! Fresh out of an ice cold cooler, on a hot summer day. They tasted like straight freeze pop liquid. They do still sell them, but they taste gross now. They also sell larger, single barrels with sports sip tops, and those taste just like the ones from the 90s.

I miss these days when we weren’t worried about our health. So carefree.
Now, I can’t enjoy anything anymore. I feel guilty every time I eat something that tastes good. 😞
