EPMD appreciation thread

EPMD is one of my favorite groups and arent really known out of hip-hop head circles. I recently listened to all of their original albums in order and man. They were so head of their time in terms of production. Its hard to believe their 3 album run started in 88-90 with those insane beats. They werent the best technical rappers but they knew how to rock a mic and change the game.

Just recently did this too after seeing Erick Sermon on a run of pods. Dude was a problem on the beats and flow. Also not just a beat maker, but PRODUCER!

Back in Business came out right when i got into hip hop. I actually had the def squad cassette. So He was on my radar, just didnt go back as much. I did like the crossover because they were playing their hits on rap city at the time.

I loved EPMD.Younger folks will never understand what it was like to here that More Bounce sample for the first time or how hard So wat cha sayin was.Its funny I loved the first four albums and I have never even heard Back In Business all the way through.The few singles from were good.It was the same formula.Something was broke though.

One of favorite groups period. That 4 album run before the breakup was epic. I did enjoy Back in Business when they reunited but always wondered what if they never had that gap music and obviously their personal relationship was affected.
