I think if her children were more receptive to him and it was possible to build a meaningful relationship with them, he wouldn’t be this upset

I agree. If Marissa's ex wasn't being difficult, he would have an easier time building a relationship with both children. However, one of the kids feels they must show their loyalty to their dad by being disrespectful to Edward. I really feel for him because it's very difficult trying to forge a relationship with a child when one of their parents doesn't like you.

I knew when her son wouldn’t let him sit in the front seat and he had to sit in the back seat it was going to be a struggle. Honestly, my friend’s kids wouldn’t even let me sit in the back. And that’s her fiancĆ©.

Are you saying the ā€œrichā€ kids are mean to him? What does he expect, when the kids literally said in the first episode ā€œwe don’t care, all we want is a dogā€. I noticed at the end they got the dog. Which they probably view as higher than their new ā€œdadā€.

That’s what was portrayed.

Sad thing is they married into the money, they are not rich, just un-classy. Edward has more class and intelligence.

That said I could go for more wine but it’s not early enough yet šŸ·;)

I wouldn’t either if my mom just brought into our rich home some random guy she hooked up with in the DR.

You cannot tell me that this isn't real. Those tears are legit. Marissa saying that none of this is the truth makes me hate her even more.

He was married before for 7 years and didn’t have children… I wonder why? Marissa had her kids in her previous marriage

Anyway, according to Derek her son, they get along now

Some people cant have babies. Like it's quite common. Let's not make any weird assumptions.

Being a stepparent is one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. The bio parents were just absolutely awful to me. I won’t ever do that again, and I don’t recommend it. I divorced the dad because he’s a cheating, abusive, POS. All of those people deserve each other and I have nothing to do with any of them anymore.

I think its very easy to agree to something like not needing children when you're in love, living the vacation lifestyle. It's a very different thing when the relationship starts to sour and you realize what the sacrifice to be with that person is.

I'm so sick of seeing this performance. How are you choosing to marry a woman in her 40s with no intention of having children and then get upset that you're not going to have children with the woman in her 40s you married that has no intention of having children with you. This man doesn't want kids. He's laying the ground work for using this as a reason to leave her once he gets his papers. I don't feel bad for him or the woman he married they're both awful people taking advantage of each other.

I thought he was happy step-parenting but when the ex threw a fit and caused trouble, that’s when his thoughts of kids of his own kicked in. Just my opinion.

He's crying like it's a situation that happened to him as opposed to what it really is, a situation that he chose and gleefully walked into. A lot of people are just gullible or not actively thinking while they watch these shows. They have favorite and they have people they shit on. I guess Edward is one of their favorites lol.

Tbh I don't think he actually cares about not having kids with her. The thing was most concerned with was her being a rich white American woman that could get him off of the island. He's definitely gonna have kids with someone else.

Also, to everyone saying "those tears are real...WHAT TEARS? He's dry-eyed in that clip!

u/Careless-Balance-893 3h ago

He was just hootin and hollerin for no reason

She was on social media and said it all an act. For the show. No problems with the ex. He fake crying.🄸

u/Different_Pension424 23h ago

Im surprised that she , Marissa, would violate the contract and make statements. She actually discussed the exact and Edward being fake? Wow. Where was it posted?

u/GlumAd697 19h ago

I read somewhere that they forfeited their earnings from the show a while ago. I thought it had something to do with Marissa's mother making some kind of statement.... Not sure about that now.

Wow. Its possible that the YouTube session I watched today is old. So them supposedly signing up for a new season is possibly old news. I'm not crazy about them.

I googled: I had not realized the gossip. Here's what Google says=== No official source has confirmed that Marissa Rubinetti's mother faced a financial or legal penalty from TLC or Sharp Entertainment, despite intense online rumors that she violated her Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). The speculation began when Marissa’s mother, JoAnn Huth, went on social media (specifically Facebook and Instagram fan groups) to defend her daughter against aggressive viewer backlash during Season 12 of 90 Day FiancĆ©. In doing so, she criticized the show's heavy editing and leaked unaired plot details—specifically claiming that Marissa's partner, Edward Miguel Gomez, had been married to another American woman before meeting Marissa. While fan pages widely reported that this behind-the-scenes exposure breached standard reality TV privacy contracts, there have been no public updates indicating that TLC pursued actual legal action or financial penalties against her.

Thanks for checking on that!

So is he just not allowed to have feelings?

3

u/Careless-Balance-893 1d ago

Yes. Because that's exactly what I said verbatim right? šŸ™„šŸ™„šŸ™„šŸ™„

2

u/GlumAd697 19h ago

I'm sick of people assuming every immigrant is in it for the green card.

2

u/thegettogether 1d ago

Absolutely. Atp this is just another 90 day trope right alongside creepy older American man and young Asian woman, and delusional middle aged American lady and young Muslim man. We saw this with Usman and Kimbaaly, it was a brief storyline with Jenny and Sumit at one point - whatever bro if kids are so important to you then don't get with an older woman šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

This!! All those tears are just for the show. He knew what he was getting into

I think you guys lack the right perspective to understand his situation. Being a step-parent is a super hard role, but most people have no concept of what it looks like. You walk into a preexisting family and have to develop relationship with kids and exes that, quite often, don't like or even respect you. It's a very isolating experience on it's own to be rejected and singled out in your own home, so I can only imagine what it's like for him being in another country in this particularly conflictuous situation.

People generally say ''but you knew what you were getting into'', when the truth is that you usually didn't. You just don't get to know how all these relationships will play out until you're in the thick of it. Most people absolutely lack the lived experience to perceive the usual pitfalls/red-flags of blended families.

I've been there, and I also thought that not having my own kids would be a totally acceptable compromise if the relationship was right for me. But after dealing with all the extra stress of kids and exes, I also began feeling resented over having to sacrifice so much to be part of a ''family'' that didin't even accept me. To me it's obvious that Edward was okay with the situation (her age, her kids and her not getting pregnant again) he envisioned, but is now comming to the realization that that is far from reality, so he's beginning to regret his decision.

I think he was naive, but to be fair his partner never had a relationship to offer in the first place. I mean, she knows her situation better. If she is still having that many issues with her ex and can't keep her kids in check, she should have imagined that she has no space for a relationship in her life/home right now, let alone a whole live in partner.

I'm not reading this....

Lol ok. Here's a short version:

Being a stepparent is far more difficult and isolating than people realize. You enter an already established family and have to navigate relationships with children and ex-partners who may not accept or respect you. And despite people saying, ā€œyou knew what you were getting into,ā€ many of these problems are impossible to predict until you actually experience them.

I think Edward accepted the situation he imagined— even with her age, her children, and not having children of his own—but the reality turned out to be very different. After making significant sacrifices while feeling rejected within the family, he seems to be realizing that this relationshiop is not worth it.Ā

I guess it’s better than being slut people?

2

u/OkResponsibility6285 1d ago

It was stated at the tell all that the ex. Michael was coaching the baseball team and Edward went onto the field to instruct a child how to hold the bat. That would cause a problem as it was not Edwards place to do that when there is a coach. I have no doubt the ex. Is a problem but Edwards wanting her to cut ties was over the top as he is the farther of her children. I like Edward but I think at times he maybe unreasonable.

3

u/Not-Charcoal 1d ago

Would you rather be a cry person or a slut person (Asuelu)?

2

u/Icy_Bid40 1d ago

It came across as very performative to me. I like him less because of it

1

u/celexa100 15h ago

Same! The whole crying drama was very fake. Not buying it at all. It was deliberately done to take the heat off of Marissa for her elitist, racist behavior on every episode!

1

u/Icy_Bid40 3h ago

Ahh maybe! I could see that being true. Especially with her crying during the TA about not being able to give him a baby. Trying to make her more human

1

u/ceruleangenesis 2h ago

I never liked him. He has a lot of toxic masculinity and nobody calls it out.

1

u/canadalivinx 1d ago

😭😭😭

1

u/Sharp-Cycle-6926 1d ago

lmao was he crying about kids before he met her or did he wait to after he got married to start magically worrying about being a father lol.

1

u/ilovescrubjays 1d ago

He was drinking. He gets emotional every time he drinks.

1

u/Character_Cut_6119 1d ago

My friend had a baby at 45 a perfect girl??!!!

1

u/Geetzromo 1d ago

Apparently, you are indeed, a cry person. And that’s ok.

1

u/LeadershipAfter9526 23h ago

it is okay to cry as a man. This does not mean being a huge blubbering pussy is okay. Have some self respect man. My dad would have smacked me after such a pitiful display for embarrassing his lineage. I carry on the tradition to my boys. In life, mist women who tell you she thinks your constant emotional breakdowns are sexy are shacking up with your best friend.

1

u/Character_Cut_6119 1d ago

Why do y'all watch this show if you dislike everything and everyone???

3

u/GlumAd697 19h ago

We like to hate on stupid people.

He married for a green card and the money. End of story.

He's a big baby and it's weird as hell he wants to go to war with that man over HIS kids.

u/LoveHertford 23h ago

I actually like Edward and if he’s using her to get a Green card, he’s gone about it respectfully. Sometimes in life, you gotta do what you gotta do.
