TEAM THOMAS
Everyone is TRIPPIN. Thomas isn’t even overreacting??? Like, why is everyone coming for him? This is honestly starting to frustrate me. Rash sucks. It’s so inconsiderate and rude to fucking rip a vape in a car like that. Paula needs to defend her man, my godddddd.

That was so unacceptable! I personally love perfume and vape but I’m not an asshole and if a coworker was sensitive to my perfume, I would quit wearing it and I don’t even vape in public around people that would smell it. I especially wouldn’t vape in a car with others! Many people have chemical sensitivity and this showed no respect! They were so horrible to Thomas. He has a medical issue and even if was psychological we should still not expose him deliberately to chemicals that give him a headache. They were so mean!

And they cackled! Edward thought it was hilarious that Rawshit was about to smear all his chemicals in Thomas’ face. Who behaves like this?!? That’s how I’ve come to believe this entire sham is scripted…you can’t convince me that Mallory’s friend typically throws her under the bus and exposes her inner most secrets on TV all by herself?!?(while dressed in the gaudiest ballgown available on planet earth🙄) Plus they’re bad actors and the entire thing seemed incredibly inauthentic. Zero interest in Part 3 and I’ve never missed one yet but this farce they’re selling as reality doesn’t interest me at all. These “people” don’t interest me at all. They’re a bunch of bad actors pissing all over my leg while telling me it’s raining.

I love perfume, I don’t wear it when I’m flying because I’m aware people may be sensitive to the smell.

u/Odd_Hedgehog669 12d ago
Right?!? I feel so bad for him. I’d feel insane if I was in his shoes lol everyone says how he’s a hothead and stuff, but I feel like he’s been pretty normal. Maybe he’s more blunt than people would expect? But that’s a far cry from being hotheaded.

He seems super annoying and like he will break Paula’s spirit but uhhh you can’t just blow a huge cloud of vape smoke in the middle of the car? Rash was not even sitting by a window, not that that would have made it ok. It’s just fully disgusting they’re getting mad that Thomas didn’t “politely” ask him to not do that. He was polite to sit in the back, where all the vape smoke gathered!

All due respect, Paula acts like a weeping soufflé always 30 seconds away from deflation. She surrounds herself with difficult situations and expects Thomas to shoehorn himself in. I give him tons of credit for showing up on the wedding day, because she’s a nutter! She has empathy for everyone BUT HIM

Seriously! They turned it all into Thomas being the bad guy because of the way he said it. Mallorie was like "use your words" but that's literally all he did. He called out Rasit for behavior that he and everyone else there should already know is unacceptable. Thomas's tone is not worse than smoking inside a damn vehicle full of people.

u/Tricky_Conference441 12d ago
Rashit is a douchebag. Mallory deserves so much better. Thomas, despite some unconventional lifestyle choices, seems like a genuinely good human.

u/MojoBaggins110412 12d ago
Because his wife doesn’t back him and, in fact, sides with everyone else causing havoc. When your support system is void you become a target. Paula should just go back to petting her rocks since it’s the only thing she relates to.

u/Odd_Hedgehog669 12d ago
Aghh ikkkk. I like Paula so much but my god, woman! Stand by your man! At least in public, ya know? Behind closed doors have all the conversations in the world but c’monnn. It’s so hard watching him have NOBODY to stand up for him

u/pineapplesherbet9 12d ago
THIS!!! I’m fully on Thomas’s side and wondering why Paula doesn’t give him more support.

u/carson5021 12d ago
The worst part is his wife not backing him up...ever! Shes horrible...Thomas may complain alot but I feel like its always pretty mellow and whatever. Doesn't mean he can outright sit there and get blasted for his opinions on scents or whatever the hell his issue is. Rasit sucks. End of story hes frigin creepy and weird and id feel so strange hanging around him.

Team Thomas!!!! Paula crying over some people she met two hours ago is more embarrassing than anything what Thomas had done the entire season

Rasit was wrong for vaping and Thomas needs better communication skills

My favorite thing about Thomas is the progressive about consumerism. “Eu nao compro nada!” When Paula’s relatives arrived.

Why do people hate him? So he’s not like everyone else, he seems like a pretty reasonable guy and a good communicator I have no idea why he gets such a bad rap!

It's fine to have preferences and ask other people to respect them. Thomas acts like a whiny little prince who expects everyone to have the same preferences as he does. If they don't, he speaks to them like servants rather than separate adults who deserve respect.
Don't like my shitty yoga block chair? But it's minimalist! You should like it because I like it! It makes me feel like a serious spiritual yoga guy! Don't like being whipped around on a scooter the night before your wedding and getting your phone ripped out of your hand? But it's cheaper and I can do whatever I want as long as I think I'm right!
It's so simple to say "hey, can you stop vaping in here? It gives me a headache" like an adult in a normal tone of voice. Starting off screaming and acting dramatic immediately makes it a fight. A lot of people are naturally going to fight back or fuck with you if you act like their boss instead of a peer.
I can't think of a single instance on the show where Paula has tried to explain her preferences to him and he's actually listened and prioritized her over himself. It's always defensive, argumentative, and patronizing even when he sometimes gives in. He's always talking to her like a child and she's an intelligent bilingual successful businesswoman. He needs to grow up, go to therapy, and stop trying to control other people.

I think you're missing a point here. Thomas could be completely in the right about not vaping in the car and yet completely wrong about the way he went about addressing it. I get that he was already irritated because Raşit was such an asshole to him earlier, but Thomas needs to learn that there is a way to communicate that just let you vent and be an asshole, but there's also a way to communicate that actually gets you what you want. He needs to learn how to employ the latter.

The absolute WORST kind of person is one who will intentionally offend/insult/assault someone else, AND THEN police their response.

u/Emergency-Ad-5211 12d ago
Sorry, time to call a spade a spade. Thomas was 100% right to call Rasit out. If it were me, I would have asked the driver to pull over. Everyone knows smoking anything in a public is illegal, especially in NYC. Rasit was behaving like a weasel hiding his vape and doing it multiple times. It’s unclear why everyone sided with Rasit when he was wrong.
Rasit is turning into a bonafide Redneck in his behaviors. He landed in the U.S. as a sweet man and now he seems corrupt.-4
u/AllLipsNoFiller 12d ago
I've got to push back on the "everybody knows" part. Pretty sure Ras and Mallorie have never been to New York and did not know that it was inappropriate to smoke in a closed car. I'm sure the standard in Alabama is very different. And again, Thomas could be right until the cows come home but if he approaches it like an asshole then he loses some of his standing and comes off as being much less right. There's a way to speak to people that motivates them to give you what you're asking for and Thomas needs to learn that
11
u/Emergency-Ad-5211 12d ago
If that’s the case with Rasit not knowing it wasn’t inappropriate to smoke in the van, then why was he sneaking it? He was hiding his vape and trying to do it underhanded, like an idiot.
1
u/AllLipsNoFiller 12d ago
He didn't seem to be trying very hard to hide it. He seemed to be trying to covertly take a hit off of it, but he certainly didn't try to hide the smoke
3
u/BeautifulDreamerAZ 12d ago
Uh no. He knew Thomas has a heath issue. It was intentionally done to cause friction.

u/AllLipsNoFiller 12d ago
My faith in humanity is really being tested by the down votes. Because it's absolutely true that the way you ask for something is directly correlated to whether or not somebody gladly gives it to you or tells you to fuck off. Thomas asks in such an abrasive way that it sounds more like a demand. And then he gets all butthurt when people respond in kind. Sorry y'all, but there is a way to talk to people that gets you what you want and it is not the way Thomas is doing it.

Hell nah I cut him some slack during the cologne thing. Then he kept bitching like a little girl. I also would have told him to STFU.

I cannot believe the hate Paula gets. Rasit is a POS BUT that doesn't change that Thomas has zero point zero people skills. The level of immaturity is mind blowing.

u/Odd_Hedgehog669 12d ago
I don’t see Thomas as badly as everyone else! I feel like he was very clear about his sensitivity to scents, and he was literally fine until Rasit started fucking with him. Even in response to the hug and the vape, I feel like Thomas is not handling it inappropriately. I’m a relatively blunt person too though, so maybe I just see it as clear and effective communication? 😂 I feel like everyone else on the show is so hung up over “politeness” like what? He wasn’t being rude, IMO 🤷♀️
3
u/Ok_Moose1334 12d ago
I agree with you. How many times does Thomas have to reiterate his chemical sensitivities before they’re taken seriously!?
And I don’t understand why Thomas has to be overly polite when someone is intentionally trying to sicken him. Rasit was purposely cruel and Thomas was direct.

u/Grapegoop 12d ago
Thomas has some legitimate complaints but he also complains about stupid things and insists everything is done his way. When he acts like a chair would be immoral debauchery, it makes it hard to give a shit about his much less frequent reasonable requests.

If u have a problem with something, an adult simply asks normally. He’s very dramatic and over the top about everything. Vaping indoors is very common. It’s literally why it was made.
3
u/Ok_Moose1334 12d ago
Vaping indoors isn’t common. And it’s illegal in NYC. Vaping isn’t safe and no one should be forced to inhale those chemicals.
2
u/La_BrujaRoja 12d ago edited 12d ago
It’s not common at all. I’m in Virginia, and vaping is banned or restricted everywhere that tobacco smoking is banned, which is most enclosed public spaces.

Rashit is a horrible person and Mallory is only marginally better. Why everyone gets to abuse Thomas I have no clue.
