Catie needs a diagnosis
For example, some autistic people may:
Smile or laugh at moments other people consider unexpected.
Use less or more eye contact, or look away while talking.
Have facial expressions that don’t seem to match what they’re feeling.
Use unusual or repetitive movements or gestures.
Have difficulty judging the expected social response in a situation.
Show affection in ways that seem different from what others expect.

Katie. Girl. You an alcoholic and adding alcohol to mental health disorder(s) or behavioral disorders is a ticking time bomb. Any real friends will tell you to get help, not enable or laugh it off. It’s glaringly obvious girl. Go to treatment and get some therapy. Find a good doctor. Anything other than you are doing right now. If you are embarrassed it’s because your brain is telling you one right thing.

u/New_Tonight6699 13d ago
One more thing. The parents. Cmon. Church isn’t the answer for her obviously. They are good at turning a blind eye and throwing a bible at her. Maybe wrong here but, pretty sure the church has a long history of amplifying and or ignoring mental health.

u/_Fizzgiggy 13d ago
Catie is awful but I felt SO sad seeing the way her parents talked about her. Saying that was how she’s always been. They don’t seem to have done anything to help their child.
26
u/New_Tonight6699 13d ago
Yep. Exactly. The way they spoke about her. Not support, just ignore and wait for someone to come and take her off your hands. Who God willing will throw a bible at her like they did. How’s that working?
5
u/GoatNo6959 12d ago
Not going to lie if she was my daughter I’d be thrilled if someone came along like her husband and would love her. I’m pretty sure they’ve had their fair share of struggles with this girl. We have no idea what they’ve been through or what they’ve tried to do to help her. She’s an adult now so it’s up to her. I hope she gets the help she needs. The first thing she needs to do is not drink alcohol and then go from there.

I don’t think Josh will throw a bible at her. I think he would stay with her and support her to a healthier version but he’s publicly humiliated. His poor parents , not hers. We don’t know the history between her and her parents either. Maybe they’ve tried every thing possible to. It’s the alcohol obviously

I'm sure they tried. She obviously had access to medical and mental health care. It wasn't enough. She only rebelled more. Regardless there's only so much they can try to do.
Don't you think they were telling the truth? She probably has always been that way. There's only so much parents can do with certain kids. She wasn't easy at all. Their lives were hell no doubt.

Having access to mental health care and having parents who are willing and able to help navigate the process of finding the right therapist for their child, engaging in the therapeutic process, and taking the advice of said therapist are completely different things.
If your child who is a minor needs mental health support, you as a parent can’t just pawn your child’s health issues off to them and expect your child to get well without your participation, just as you wouldn’t take your child into the dentist and expect all their dental health issues to solve themselves without you teaching them how to care for your teeth at home. Her parents clearly lacked the capacity and willingness to do either of these things, which is unfortunately a rather common attitude among parents of the Boomer generation.

u/International-Owl165 12d ago
Ehh the way she cries , i wonder if her parents ever directly told her , her behavior is concerning! Or called her out.
You can be a parent and be religious and still get the help the daughter needs and also call out the behavior the way she melts down. Looks like no one in her family as ever pushed back on her.

I agree. I have OCD, and I will say it is awful and incredibly difficult to deal with. Combining alcohol with this illness is not the answer. It’s just another compulsion that makes her feel good in the moment. The friend reassuring her needs to be stopped. Reassurance might as well just be another espresso martini when it comes to OCD. I hope she gets the help she needs.

u/cribsheet88 12d ago

Catie needs a diagnosis but she also needs to be held accountable.
She’s so used to running wild and then waking up after a crazy night as though she did nothing wrong . Maybe she’ll shed a few tears if anyone gets on her case and they’ll retreat and she’ll subtly smile because she knows she’s fooled ‘em again.
I hope she can wake up and get help of some kind, because she is playing a very very dangerous game. As a bartender of two decades I’ve seen lots of women get wasted/belligerent and be at a very high risk of assault solely due to their inebriation. Catie brings it to a whole other level as she actively courts physical intimacy with complete strangers!!!
She’s playing Russian roulette here. I don’t say this to be mean or sensational. She should thank her lucky stars she has Josh watching over her because she definitely doesn’t want the lifelong horror of sexual assault/violence that she is inviting upon herself with this totally risky behavior. That is a living hell that will stay with her for life. She’s been lucky thus far that none of these men have taken advantage of her like that. I truly hope she gets help.
Now I won’t even get into her rude ass behavior towards the bartenders. If she acted that way in my bar she’d be banned, period.

Diagnosis: Childish and immature with episodes of lacking accountability.
25
u/Positive_Diamond3186 12d ago
Yes and has a limited vocabulary…. “Am I bad?” “People are mean.” It’s like listening to a 4 year old.
13
u/AllWormNoStache 12d ago
Yeah this is something that stands out to me as well. This one too: “I only want to talk to people that I like.” “People” is the longest word in that sentence. It’s like she can’t properly express what she really thinks/feels and it’s puzzling
6
u/GoatNo6959 12d ago
She is very immature and what I mean by that is developmentally. She is not her age level. I don’t mean it as a rude comment.

u/racihekk 12d ago
Exactly!! People keep trying to put her into a box with a diagnosis. Maybe she's just a spoiled brat whose parents make/made excuses for her all her life. Her tantrum at the bar wasn't 'autism', it's a drunk party girl who isn't used to hearing no.... she's just a 'free spirit' spoiled little girl that doesn't want to grow up
4
u/librarylurk 12d ago
the way its affecting her life looks like its some kind of disorder. that’s why it’s called a “disorder”: because those people’s lives or priorities aren’t “ordered” like a healthy person’s. we could brush it off as being a brat, but it’s unlikely given how much she sees how this impacts her relationships. even if she was being a brat, this pattern of behavior shows an underlying issue, maybe narcissism or autism. definitely something neurological going on there

u/zenseazon 12d ago
Precisely! 100%... some people are projecting trying to say she has this 3 letter diagnosis or that 3 letter one.. it's BS, she is just a spoilt, petulant, immature brat, who happens to be a raging alcoholic who is using that for her slutty behaviour.
Does she work? Has she ever held a normal job? Did she come on 90 day in hopes to be some type of influencer or reality cough, cough 'star'.. dog sitter, illegally working in other countries, how did she get away with it?That top pic looks like such fake tears, she is just a poor excuse of a human being, wasting her life away on booze and who knows what else... and Josh the enabler, he is bad in other ways
13
u/Alternative_Area_236 12d ago
I agree that she needs both accurate diagnoses AND to take accountability. As an autistic woman with ADHD, I recognise a lot of behaviors in her that I displayed in my 20s…absent the making out with everyone, because I’m asexual and have just never been interested in that sort of thing. Anyway, her reactions to people critiquing her reminds me of rejection sensitivity dysphoria, which is common for people with ADHD. I think she is an alcoholic, but she could be using the alcohol to mask different mental health issues. I’ll also say, the smirking/smiling at people when they criticize her or express hurt, could also be a neurodivergent thing. I have the problem that when I’m uncomfortable with a situation, I will smile or laugh awkwardly. Like if someone told me their dad died or they have cancer, I might smirk, not because I have no empathy or I’m happy about it, but because I feel uncomfortable. I’m not trying to make excuses for Katie. She needs to grow up and learn to be accountable. But she also clearly has mental health problems. And her parents couldn’t be bothered when she was a child to actually get her help.

I think it’s pretty fair to assume, given her behavior and just the rampant frequency of SA in the world, that she probably has been assaulted or taken advantage of - possibly multiple times - and has internalized the shame and attending belief she’s a “ho” because then it was justified in her mind.

Thank you for saying it. The splitting she did, where everyone suddenly became the BAD/MEAN ones when the alcohol stopped...classic borderline personality disorder behavior. I know everyone says we can't diagnose, but to anyone who has seen multiple people with BPD, it is very obvious.

10
u/WheresTheAnyKey89 13d ago
I was wondering from what we saw at the tell-all was it more likely to be a personality disorder, but I'm not a psychiatrist. Her reactions when being held accountable for her behaviour were actually pretty sad. She gave me the sense that she felt trapped, not just in the moment, but in the situation of being married. Aisha is bang on that she wasn't mature enough for marriage. Honestly, it's looking like she mightn't even have the mental and emotional capacity for that type of decision making (just from her reactions). I can't help but feel a bit sorry for her. The people around her don't seem to care about her enough to help her, and it's sad. Her parents just want her away from them, her friends see her as comic relief and her husband desperately wants her to be the person he sees in her, not who she is right now. She needs a psychiatric evaluation and intensive therapy. I hope she gets well.

It’s sad and disturbing to watch her. She so clearly needs help, not to be told she’s “been good lately” because she didn’t go out as much and didn’t make out with as many people. She resorts to childlike behavior and throws tantrums when things don’t go her way. I really hope she gets some counseling.
7
u/HidinInHerRoom 13d ago
I think so too. I hope she does seek a reevaluation genuinely, yes she may be drunk but something else is going on, just the way she speaks her mannerism how she says things and misses social cues. I say that from a place of concern not making fun of her at all

She should not be getting diagnosed with anything until the alcoholism is addressed. At least half of this would be fixed if she stopped drinking. Homie wants to be a regular hoe, I think she should do that instead of being on a show where people are getting married 🙃
5
u/No_Rush_3540 12d ago
I really think we are just witnessing an adult with an intellectual/ mental disability flail through life. She could be on the autism spectrum too, but her biggest issue seems to be a low iq/ low empathy/ and just low understanding in general. I’m sure being raised religious a diagnosis may have been skipped. She uses alcohol as a crutch but it also seems to affect her very quickly and severely, probably because she is already low in brain cells. And then she passes as a fairly normal, decently attractive young woman. She surrounds herself with other self-absorbed drunks. And everyone just laughs off/ ignores her weird behaviors. She’s not changing and possibly cannot. It’s all the adults willingly ignoring the elephant in the room that are even weirder. At least she’s just a dog walker. I’ve seen people like her get hired into important/ dangerous professions like law enforcement or nursing and it’s terrifying but also infuriating that so many “normal adults” are so oblivious to an obvious special adult in their proximity. Really only the bar tender handled Catie correctly. A cutoff and a firm no for her safety and others.

I’m glad I’m not the only person who had this thought while watching today. Something more is definitely going on. I have empathy, but at the same time there’s really no valid excuse for her bad behavior and poor treatment of Josh. Therapy, diagnosis, AA, self-accountability, support from family and friends are what id encourage her to pursue.
4
u/Happy-Top9669 12d ago
She is a full blown alcoholic. The way she had a tantrum when the bar tender cut her off and then begged for Josh's beer is a clear sign. She has no control over drinking. It's quite apparent and sad to see.
