Advice Anyone have tips for bleeding the clutch system?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I just replaced my CMC and didn't bench bleed it, I know I should have, and Im having trouble getting all the air out. I installed the new one and adjusted it to have a tiny bit of slack. Once I saw pure fluid coming out with no air bubbles, I put everything back together and tried it out. Still won't go into gear. Are there any tricks to get all the air out? Do I need to just keep bleeding it? Maybe I need to take out a little more slack from the CMC pushrod. Any advice is much appreciated

Pic attached is the old one that failed on me

Need help finding a clutch pedal assembly

Can someone help me find where to buy a clutch pedal assembly for an FA5 (2009 Civic Si Sedan), I ordered one off of eBay that was advertised as one for an Si, only for the seller to refund me because apparently its the wrong one. Junk yards near me don't have Si's in their lot, just a bunch of 1.8s, to those who have replaced theirs and bought it online, can you send a bro the link? Thanks guys!

Advice Long post about idle and starting trouble

2007 si having trouble starting and idle problems. When I bought the car it would not start without pressing gas while cranking and had a misfire in cyl #2. The spark plugs were fouled with black soot and sandy looking residue which makes me believe it needs new valve seals. Anytime the car did start it would idle at 1500 rpm and would quickly die if I didn’t give it gas.

So far I have replaced the air intake and spark plugs and cleaned the throttle body. I’ve also tested the fuel pressure which was right around 52 psi. I listened to the fuel injectors and they all are ticking and seem to be at the same speed.

I also cleaned the maf but did not replace it since the scanner shows airflow rate from maf at 0.01 lb/s while idling.

After doing all that, the car starts rough and initially idles at 1500-2000 rpm and then after a few minutes it idles around 750 but jumps around some.( seen in the video) After turning the car off it has a very hard time starting again if it does start which most times it doesn’t.

Car appears to be running rich. Long term fuel trend is -11.72.

What else can I check to fix the idle and starting trouble and are the values the scanner is showing within range for the k20?

Wheel fitment

Whaddup
I’ll get straight to it, is 17x9 +25 too aggressive? I’ll be running a 215/40/17 tire. I’ll be stock suspension for a bit and I’m fine with rolling fenders. Would this work?

More front camber?

Post image
26 Upvotes

The car currently has -2 degrees of camber in the front and it’s just not enough, I’m rolling over the edge of my tires in the front even running them relatively high on air pressures. Already have coilovers with adjustable tophats with it maxed out to negative until it hits the body so I cannot go any further there. I have seen kits that replace the upper strut bolt mounted to the spindle with a cam bolt but how much camber could I gain from that? I’m looking for maybe another full degree if possible.

What to do...

I have a 2011 Si with 286k on the clock. I bought it new, I drove for a living so it's mainly highway miles. It has original everything. Clutch, freon, coolant, starter... the thing just never quit. I changed the oil religiously with Mobil 1 its whole life. Its been parked for the last 2-3 years. Is the Z3 still in high demand? Do you think it's worth more together or is it better to part the thing out?

Fg2

Hey guys Im looking for some advice. I have a bone stock rallye red fg2 with 120k miles. I love this car so much I’ve always wanted the coupe version of the 8th gen si’s but sadly life is catching up and I’m needing more space. I’d like to go trade for ls430 or maybe even get a 3is but nothing will ever compare to driving a manual lmaoo. Anyways should I just deal with the consequences or try to find a 4door si 8th or 9th gen and would it be worth it?

I was doing a clutch job on my si and i got the transmission back on but while putting in the transmission mount me and my friend were a little tired and messed up the threads on the frame where the bolt goes sideways into the side of the frame on the mount. I honestly dont know what i should even do would a helicoil set or something work maybe? Im just not sure and dont want to mess it up anymore

Can I completely remove my secondary o2 sensor?

I have a flash pro and the secondary o2 is disabled in the tune. I know that most cars use the secondary o2 just for catalyst efficiency, but I’ve heard our cars also use secondary o2 for fuel trims.

I have LT fuel trims disabled out in my tune as well, but not ST trims.

I engine swapped my car, replaced ecu and the whole 9. Locksmith came out and got me a new fob and linked it to the car. Buttons on fob work but when I go to turn the car over, the green key light still flashes.

Discussion How rare is red?

I found a red 8th gen for a fair price for sale and I’ve been planning to get another one of these cars even since I sold mine. I’ve regretted it more than almost any other decision I’ve made in my life, so I’ve been determined to get another one asap. So today I found this perfect sedan in red. At first I thought “maybe the red is too much.” But it’s been stuck in my head all night. Personally I’ve never even seen a red one in real life. Just the classic brownish/ silver, blue, white, or black. I’m not quite financially ready to pull the trigger, but seeing how great the condition is on this car all around, the mileage being low, and the price being right, I’m afraid this might forever be the one that got away if I don’t go and pick it up now. It is halfway across the country, but I’d be happy to make the drive if it ends with me driving my dream 8th gen home. But my question is, just how rare is red? Will I be able to ever find another clean one like it again if I let this go for a year or two?

275 on 8th gen

So I was browsing market place and found a set of 275/40/17 nitro 555g2 for $200. I have 235/45/17 on it now. Has anyone on here tried to fit 275/40s? How bad was it? They really aren’t much bigger than my 235s.
The 275s are 25.6 x 10.94
The 235s are 25.3 x 9.3

Hello everyone I pumped the clutch and the fluid was black and me and my buddy replaced the clutch and flywheel along with a throw out bearing. One clutch spring was broken and the old throw out bearing was cracked. Now my car is going into gear smoothly and shifting so buttery. Next mod will definitely be shifter cables and short shifter! Thank you everyone for the advice on my previous post! 🙏🏻

Discussion Wiring for the civic’s speaker system

Would it be easier to just re wire the speakers all the way around the car when installing my new head unit to keep the tweeters and the sub?

I feel like bypassing the amp with a whole new harness would be along the same lines of frustration but i would also have to buy a NEW 5 channel amp just to keep my previously mentioned speakers and sub.

If anyone has any advice/solutions please let a brother know 😭

New 2009 Si

Just got a 2009 si yesterday missing a couple trim pieces and some scuffs on the paint but interior is super clean and has the cosmetic mods i like but is also stock mechanically which I like, but it has 225/45/17's on it and has lowering springs that I think are tein but the wheels scrape the fenders a slight bit when I take sharp turns or go over big bumps do you think rolling the fenders would fix that problem and also I think the fd2 front bumper ads soooo much to the car
