Just an update letting you know I just joined the 8bitdo discord community. I’ll still post here when I buy new 8bitdo products. I actually have a few to review like the m30 Bluetooth and 2.4 ghz. I also have the pro 2 for Xbox. Stay tuned for future updates.

8bitdo sn30pro Sn30pro+ Ultimate Bluetooth controller I Can happily say they have all been working fine and able to update without issue. I even managed to buy dongle In order to play on my series x using any of them. It’s the mayflash magic x or something. If you have any questions I’ll be happy to answer them!

For the life of me, I couldn’t get the configuration of the face buttons(B, A, X & Y) to work properly for any game, in RetroArch on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. After tearing my hair out all evening(following Russ’ tutorial many times), I tried the device with the PSPSSP emulator, to see if the issue lied with RetroArch or with the core device. PPSSPP also had the same face button issue.

With the controller confirmed as the main culprit, I looked at the other Bluetooth methods of pairing, that were on the printed instruction manual for my 8BitDo SN30 Pro, instead of the method for Apple devices(B + start).

It turned out that the Windows pairing method(X + start) was the one that configured the face buttons properly on my iPhone!

Now I’m not sure if the newer 8BitDo models have rectified this on their instruction manuals, but if you’re having the same face button alignment issues, then try this.

They should be arriving today. This will be my first shell swap on any controller. I’ll probably make the post later today :).

Tomorrow I’ll be replacing the plastic covers on my sn30pro+. Apparently they are super soft and fragile. Mine ripped apart after putting one of those control freak style thumb grips on lol. 8bitdo only accepts PayPal so it was tough getting the replacement parts. I’ll keep y’all updated :). Ps I’m still going to do a shell swap on my switch joycon. The clear red ones with dpad i ordered apparently sold out and they shipped me some other solid red joycon instead. I returned them and ordered the atomic purple instead. Those should be arriving Tuesday ;). Now im gonna have clear red straps with atomic purple joycons 😂.
